73rd Street Hardware (formerly Supreme Hardware) is a family owned retail hardware store located on Manhattan's Upper West Side. We have served the community for more than 30 years. Our hardware knowledge, efficient service and personalized care makes us rare in today's hardware business. We make an extra effort to help you get the tools needed to accomplish your projects.

We take the time to assess your needs, unlike the sales-driven mega-stores. We carry thousands of products in our store, and are ready to place special orders for anything not on hand. We provide on-site services and make free delivery in our neighborhood. You may order from our store via Email. After confirmation, we will make prompt delivery of your order within the area of 64th to 86th Streets, from Central Park West to West End Avenue.
Services
73rd Street Hardware assists customers on the Upper West Side of Manhattan with Electrical, Plumbing, Power Tools, Air Conditioning, Pest Control, Lumber, Building/Cleaning Supplies, Construction Supplies, Paint, Lumber Cutting and Glass Cutting needs. Supreme Hardware has been serving the Upper West Side for over 32 years.
Summer, spring, fall and winter - at 73rd Street Hardware we can help you make the most of the season. During spring and summer we have a wide selection of planting and gardening supplies - plastic and clay pots and saucers, plant food, watering cans and garden gloves, for example. When the summer heat flares up, we not only sell air conditioners, we do the work of installing them, too!
We carry the Clorox line of environmentally friendly cleaning products, from glass and surface cleaners to laundry detergents and fabric softeners. Find simple sprays to spruce up your stainless steel appliances, to heavy duty cleansers and deodorizers by the gallon here at Supreme Hardware.

Neighborhood superintendents will make use of our 100 count cases of trash bags in black, clear and blue, as well as detachable mop heads up to 32 ounces alongside our degreasers and powerful drain clearing liquids.Local Upper West Siders take advantage of our wide range of household necessities - from Windex to Mop and Glo for kitchen and hardwood floors.
Whether what's required is to simply replace a plate for a wall switch, or a 50' roll of 12/3 B X cable for a major electrical repair or installation, 73rd Street Hardware has it all in stock. Sometimes all you need is a connector to extend your televison cable wire, or maybe a dimmer to add sophistication to your lighting - we have it right here, no need to make the trek to a specialty electronics store.
Here at 73rd Street Hardware, we keep sheets of glass, mirror and plexiglass on hand enabling us to cut pieces to nearly any specification. For replacing picture frame glass and window panes, we have 1/8 glass. Should you want glass for a more sturdy application, such as a table top or a shelf, we cut our 1/4 glass and polish the edges for a smooth finish.

Kenny and the other guys here were so helpful!

They showed me how I could connect a few pieces to repair my dishwasher outlet.

Kenny and his guys were patient and also went the extra mile to find items that would work.

I ended up going to another store that had the piece I needed, but it's great to know these guys exist and would try to help with what they have!

Thanks for being in the neighborhood!

This place is SO decrepit! It looks like someones garage thats filled with random hardware. Also it is overpriced. How is this place still in business when duane reade's sells pretty much everything they have for half the price.

I live far away and want to be able to call to see if they have certain things in, but I cant because their phone is just a busy signal every time I call. So obviously if I cant even use their business, then there is no function here.

Since the daughter of the owner is no longer there, things have improved dramatically and it is a friendlier environment to do business. The owner, Murray, is sincere and honest. LOCAL man and he strives to make people happy. I used to shop the store many years ago when it was on Columbus Ave. It's also one of the few rare hardware stores that cuts wood, glass or anything, for that matter. He may not have everything, but he will try to get it for you, if possible.

Supreme Hardware is a serious hardware store. Professionals shop here. This place is a great resource if you need to find a specific tool, or if you have a specific repair task (big or small) to perform. The staff can and will help you with advice as long as they don't think you are wasting their time. Don't ask them how to use a hammer, for example.

If you are only looking for decorator items... like pot holders, or pretty contact paper, or sparkly bottle stoppers... go elsewhere. Supreme Hardware is all about plumbing, electrical work, tile work, plastering, construction, etc.

Well aside from the fact that they were all out of what I was looking for the B**** behind the counter was so rude I wanted to slap her. So basically this place sucks. Went to Beacon hardware on Amsterdam instead & they were MUCH more helpful.

I live right next door. Myself and my building's super shop at this store for everything hardware related. Prior to today, my only complaint is that I tried to rent a ladder from them for 15 mins and they said it would cost like $25 or something ridiculous.

Today I stopped in & asked if I could borrow a tape measure for literally 1 minute so I could measure my stove because it's being replaced. They said no. I offered to leave my drivers license with them as proof id come back. They still said no.

I understand their job is to sell things like tape measures, but this is a tiny

Mediocre at best. Small selection and lots of bare shelf space. And pretty dirty, even for a hardware store...

But they do rent carpet cleaners!!!
