In late November of 2008 a civic minded group with representation from across the county met to discuss the lack of access to fitness, wellness, and activity centers in the area. In the spring of 2009 that group commissioned a survey which indicated that the Meade County community as a whole would strongly support this type of organization and endeavor.
With data to support the dream, the committee took the next critical step toward making this dream a reality. As a result, this group later formed the Meade Activity Center, Inc, (MAC) a 501c3 non-profit organization focused on promoting healthy lifestyles, developing programming, and building a health and wellness center to serve the community.

Services
Membership to the Meade Activity Center is available in a variety of packages. Memberships provide the opportunity for utilization of MAC facilities on an unlimited basis. Members also receive perks such as discounted fees and priority registration for MAC programs. The Meade Activity Center currently offers the following membership levels.
The programs that the MAC is making available are some of the Meade Activity Center's initial efforts to provide quality, affordable, programming options for both youth and adults in our community. This year the MAC will roll out a variety of new programs designed to build and retain a shift towards healthy living.
The updated Meade Activity Center Pool & Tennis facilities are perfect for individuals and families to exercise and unwind. Open to the public, there are many options for children and adults. We have recently added 3 new tennis courts, along with many new amenities at the swimming pool. Classes and leagues are offered for both adults and children throughout the warm weather season.
The MAC is pleased to offer online registration for many of our programs and fundraising events. Select the checkboxes next to one or more programs/events that you want to register for, then click Register. If this is the first time you have used this new online feature, use the "I want to set up online access for my account" portal.
The Red Rock Trail was built in 2016 in memory of Neal Allen: a father, a friend, and a faithful community member. Family and friends of Neal worked alongside MAC staff to construct a new fitness and nature trail at the MAC. The Red Rock Trail consists of 1.2 miles of rolling terrain located within the undeveloped property at the MAC.
