We are always excited about meeting new patients during their first visit to our office. Your initial appointment will consist of a thorough examination and a discussion of potential treatment options. This important visit will give us insight about your orthodontic needs. We will take photos to facilitate your orthodontic treatment diagnosis.
Orthodontists are dental specialists who diagnose and treat problems with the position, alignment or spacing of the teeth, and related irregularities in the face and the jaw. We use a number of special treatments, including braces and other oral appliances, to correct these problems. There are two good reasons: aesthetics and function.
At first, having orthodontic treatment may take a little getting used to. It isn't uncommon to experience a bit of soreness when appliances are first put on, or some minor aches as teeth begin moving into new positions. Yet it's comforting to know that genuine orthodontic emergencies are rare.
If you think you may have an emergency, however, the first step is to determine the severity of the problem: Is it an urgent situation that requires immediate attention, or a minor problem that you can take care of yourself, temporarily, until you can come in to our office?In any of these situations, you should seek help as soon as possible - go to an emergency room, if that's your best option.

After moving from Summerville back to Mt Pleasant, we ended up right next door to Baytree.
My daughter has braces, so I thought it would be very convenient to take her there instead of making the 90 min+ round trip. We made an appointment and met with the doctor who explained that orthodontists never accept patients from another in-town orthodontist. I told him I could understand if it was in Mt Pleasant but Summerville, especially in traffic, should hardly count and that I'd be happy to clear it with my old orthodontist if he wanted.
He said that he say my point and that wouldn't be necessary

Three of my children have been patients at Bay Tree Orthodontics and I couldn't be happier with the care they received. I highly recommend Dr. McKeta and his staff. Dr. McKeta is very patient-centered and explains completely all the work required and the patient's progress during each visit. His office is convenient to several Mt. Pleasant schools.
