Botanist & Barrel crafts real southern ciders, fruited sours, and wines. Focused on spontaneous, wild cultures and light-handed winemaking we embrace old world methods with modern sensibilities. We make natural beverages with no additives (like sulfites). We craft healthy adult lifestyle beverages for any occasion.

All of our ciders and wines contain little to no residual sugar and are inherently low in calories. We support local farmers using only sustainably and organically sourced fruits, including blueberries, apples and more from our organic estate farm.

Crush + Grind Blog Report

There are a couple of things to consider when figuring out the best pour size for cider. The ABV, the sweetness level (Residual sugar left in the cider or RS) and if it's a still or sparkling cider. All of these factors play a roll. Selecting the right glassware for cider is also something to consider (but we will address this is a separate piece).

About DeFi Wines Report

When we began researching and sourcing for this project, a lot of people told us we were crazy. We love a good challenge. We make minimalistic wines, meaning little to no added sulfites, no filtering & no additives. This goes against all conventional practices in southern winemaking and is simple in thought (nothing added and nothing taken away) but challenging in practice.

Such a cute place! Lots of ciders to choose from, loved the persimmon flavored one. Picked up some blueberries at the produce stand and enjoyed delicious slushies on the patio listening to live music.

Great place to hang out and enjoy a cold (or warm) drink. Tons of ciders, beers, and even a few wines to choose from (and non-alcoholic drinks of course). Snacks anyways and food truck sometimes. Picnic table seating with plenty of distance. The owners are often circulating about, checking and chatting on guests. It's a lovely atmosphere!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND stopping here if you live in the area or are just passing through. One of the owners stopped what she was doing to give just 3 of us a cider/wine tasting . It was very interesting, informative and she was wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back on one of their event days!!
