Services
Our mission at East Florida Eye Institute is to maintain and offer the highest standards of care to each and every patient that walks into our office. We strive to move forward in every aspect of the practice as we are constantly evolving new treatments, new treatment plans, the most up-to-date disease monitoring systems and patient-doctor relationships through personalized and individualized care.
Ophthalmologists are physicians who specialize in medical and surgical eye care. They diagnose and treat all eye diseases. Many ophthalmologists conduct scientific research to improve treatment options and to find cures for eye diseases and vision disorders. Ophthalmologists differ from optometrists and opticians in their levels of training and in what they can diagnose and treat.
To my great satisfaction, Dr. Frenkel's treatments have stabilized my advanced macular degeneration and my glaucoma. I feel better than ever and have Dr. Frenkel to thank! Dr. Frenkel and the EFEI staff have been the most professional, dedicated people and have performed a miracle on my eyes. I now see 20/20!
We offer a free Lecture Series, where our doctors speak to attendees about the latest advances in the treatment of Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma and Diabetic Eye Disease. Attend one of our lectures and you'll see why folks in our community say that our doctors are knowledgeable, approachable and experienced.
EFEI is one of the few practices in Florida to offer testing with Diopsys - a state of the art diagnostic machine - to help us evaluate and diagnose diseases of the retina and optic nerve by performing specialized VEP and ERG Testing. Visual evoked potential (VEP) tests the optic nerve. The optic nerve connects the eye to the brain.

I had Cataract surgery yesterday performed by Dr Frankel of East Florida Eye Institute at Treasure Coast Center for Surgery in Stuart. Prior to surgery my vision was 20/80. This morning when I went for my checkup my vision in the eye operated on was 20/20... less than 24 hrs after procedure!!! The procedure itself was ABSOLUTELY PAINLESS! In the hours and night after surgery I had no discomfort. None! I am counting the days until I can have Dr Frankel and the wonderful staff at the surgery center perform the same procedure on my other eye I strongly recommend East Florida Eye Institute to all

I have been going to this office for 5 years. I was referred there for diabetic eye follow up. The first 4 years I had 4 different doctors, all of whom left for different reasons, which was a concern.
I always get an early appointment to avoid waiting too long. This past week I had scheduled a 9 AM appointment to begin a Glaucoma evaluation 6 months in advance. The testing was supposed to take about an hour so I scheduled other appointments at 11 AM.
I tolerated the two reminder phone calls to show up early. I showed up at 8:45 and immediately met with someone ( they never mentioned their position
