DARTON has been manufacturing precision performance sleeves since 1978. Currently Darton are the major suppliers of performance sleeves throughout the United States and Canada. The reason for this market share is simple, a very high quality product at the most competitive prices available. The ASTM specifications for performance ductile iron sleeves indicates a minimum tensile strength of 100,000 pounds.
R&L Engines Flathead remote oil filter kit comes with everything (including comprehensive instructions) to convert your flathead into a full flow oil set-up. The kit comes with a high quality no bypass oil filter, ensuring no unfiltered oil passes through your engine. We use this system on all our custom flatheads.

So my first review got removed for a violation of guidelines. This time I'll just lay out the facts and let folks decide on their own. I HAD a '70 Nova SS That I bought in the spring of 2020. In August it started to smoke and rap a bit. Decided to have a new engine built. contacted R & L and put a down payment on a rebuilt 383 in November of that same year. Took awhile, but finally it was done and had it installed at a separate facility in May of 2021. Everything was perfect at the start. Entered it multiple car shows, car ran and looked great. Leo and the crew at R&L have done it again for me with another quality project.
Over the years they have done machine work, with me doing the assembly. The latest project a full build and dyno by them for a marine application.
Leo in the past has stood behind his work for me, which has never been a problem in over 15 years.
I would like to thank everyone behind the scenes for a job well done and to Leo, Ruth, Nadine, Dan and Dana for the special efforts.

2011 Subaru wrx leak down test cylinder heads were leaking by 70% so i explained the situation to the shop and all they said "we pressure test it and they're not leaking could be your piston rings" however I rebuilt the engine replaced everything except the crankshaftgot everything back together and leak down test it again . Same numbers I had before after i got charged i called back i was like hey this is the problem . The lady was "did you brake on your piston rings" just ignored her and took everything apart again replaced the valves and the seals my self the car running like champ however the

Have had a number of projects done at R & L and every time they are extremely well done. Best part is the advice you get on engine combinations so the entire project runs properly. Also, they have great customer service in that they have helped me out on other projects to get me out of a jam. This kind of technical expertise and customer service is hard to find. One of the best shops in new england. Ruth and Leo are constantly upgrading their equipment and keeping up with the latest technology. Leo and his crew are there every day to walk you through every step of the process. They take the time to understand your goals and don't try to upsell you anything you don't need. My experience with Ruth and Leo we're very positive. Leo is a knowledgeable guy with years of experience under his belt. Leo has always made himself available for my questions and has always accommodated my crazy schedule from staying late to leaving parts out for me to pick up whenever I could . R+L did machine work on a few of my engines, the last one being a nasty 327 for a 1967 Nova. Following Leo's recommendations on machine work, balancing, piston rings and bearing clearances, I was able to come out of there with one of the smoothest running, highest revving engines I have ever owned. I had these guys rebuild a motor for me, they told me that I had to use their mechanic to remove the motor from my truck, and re-install the motor.
Their mechanic, did not get the job done in a timely manner, the promised date of completion kept getting extended to the point where I ended up losing the whole summer, as if that wasn't bad enough I basically told to figure this stuff out myself.
R&L gave me a verbal warranty which they have not honored or even attempted to remedy in any form or fashion. However, I was threatened with Legal action being taken against me for writing a google
