Dr. Steven Chado graduated from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1983, and has been practicing optometry in Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania for the past 35 years. After working in a private practice, he founded Family Optometric Associates, P.C. in 1992.
Since then, Dr. Chado has established Family Optometric Associates practices in Stafford, Virginia; Frederick, Maryland; in Naval Exchanges in Oahu, Hawaii; San Diego, California; Norfolk, Virginia; Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, MD, Fort Belvoir AAFES Exchange, Virginia and Buckley Air Force Base AAFES Exchange, Colorado.Dr. Chado resides with his wife, Dr. Beverly Chado, in Frederick, Maryland.

Family Optometric Associates provides complete, comprehensive eye examinations including testing for glaucoma, cataracts and many other diseases of the eye. An eye exam should check more than your prescription for glasses. It should also check your eye health as most systemic diseases also affect the eye, such as high blood pressure and diabetes.

Dr. Janet Doan is an independent doctor of optometry serving the Pearl Harbor, Hawaii area. We are located within the Pearl Harbor Navy Exchange. Just has my nose pads replaced. Put ma name on the list and took a little while to receive my service. Very happy with the new pads because they seemed to hold up my glasses much better to minimize slipping; however, paying $5.00 each for the pad and at $10.00 for a pair was not too bad, but after the technician (Jonathan?)had his finger prints allover my glasses, he should had the courtesy of cleaning it before handling me my glasses back. This inattention to details really degraded their overall professionalism. I hope they will read my review and rectify their SOPs to better service their customers

Wow! What a great place to get an eye exam. The navy optometrist was backed up for a month, but the optometrist here was able to see me same day. Dr. Doan is amazing. I've been here for 3 years now, so she is also going to be doing lasik follow ups after I have surgery. She was able to refer me to a skilled surgeon. The staff is efficient and friendly as well. I highly recommend this office!

LONG WAIT TIMES! Doctor is great but she is leaving the practice.
Appointment was schedule at 1140 and I didn't get to see the doctor until 123p. (one of the reasons i imagine they run routinely late is because i believe that they schedule appointments in 10-15 minute increments. :( Would not recommend them if you value your time!!

Paid for a contact lens exam. They gave me 1 temporary pair and said I needed a follow up. I called 3 different times amd left voicemails to schedule the follow up and never got a call back. Tried to ask for my prescription (which I paid for during the exam). *They are technically required by law to give you your prescription at the time of the exam. Instead if giving me my prescription I was told I need to go back in to be seen for a whole new exam.
Thats right, a prescription is good for a year. It has not been a year yet they want me to pay for an entire NEW exam.

Two Words: DR. DOAN!!! She is amazing! She has mastered the art of being professional and skillful, yet so very personable!! She made me feel right at home. Better yet, she is a dog lover. So that in itself sparked up a conversation as we are both crazy dog moms! Haha. I will definitely be back for future exams. I was in need of contact refills pronto! But since my prescription expired, so of course, I needed to do the exam again. However, I was afraid that the trial would prevent me from getting my contacts in time. Dr. Doan to the rescue. Saw Dr. Doan to get an annual update to my prescription for glasses and contacts, and to help me get fitted for a change to a different type of contacts She, and her technicians, were very thorough and I felt like I got a very good exam. She took plenty of time finding the right contacts for my eyes, and after trials of 3 pairs we settled on one. The staff was very friendly, and explained everything regarding insurance and payment. Would definitely recommend her.

Disappointed that I called to schedule an appointment specifically to find out if I am eligible for LASIK. Receptionist did ask me what I needed to get done and I told her I wanted to find out if I am a good candidate for LASIK, she gave me available dates and because I work at 7:30pm I took the last appointment available in the day which was 4:40pm. (I tell myself, "Alright, I just have to get up a few hours early to make this appointment and hang out in town until it's time for me to report to work at 7:30pm..." And so I do just that.
