I offer a safe, sacred space for exploring how to establish healthy mind-body-spirit patterns. I share practices of reflecting, listening, placing attention, and opening heart-mind to connect with self and life. With outdoor settings and walking paths, clients can experience being present in nature.
Occasional experiences of anxiety are a normal part of life. However, anxiety, left untreated, can result in levels of nervousness, fear, tension, and worry that inhibit the ability to perform at work and/or complete daily tasks. Similarly, when going through any life change, we can experience feelings of being lost or adrift.
Trauma can heavily impact daily life. If not addressed trauma can be the cause of a wide variety of self-harming behaviors such as irritability to the point of being hostile or emotionally detached. Other symptoms include flashbacks, fear, paranoia, nightmares, and recurring unwanted thoughts. Such behaviors can negatively impact the ability to function at work or at home.
Horticultural therapy uses the positive values of human interaction with plants and gardens to improve cognitive, psychological, social, and physical functions. Since the 1800s in the United States, the cultivation of plants has been used as a treatment activity for people with mental or physical health issues.
Drop in on a Sunday group who meet to explore different approaches for using our inner spirit to engage in life with peace of mind. We begin with mindfulness exercises, usually some sitting followed by relaxing with music or song. After the mindfulness exercises and talk, group participants engage in discussion.
