We're Monte and Sandy Sharbono, the proud new owners of White Birch Resort. We are originally from eastern Montana, so we jumped at this wonderful opportunity to move to Minnesota's Northwoods. While in South Carolina, Monte was a brickmason contractor and I was an International Import Specialist for Michelin Tire Corp., until I decided to take time off from the business world to raise our two little boys.
White Birch Resort has 10 BRAND NEW high end custom built vacation home and cabins, ranging from 640 sq. All building interior and exteriors are architecturally designed and personally accessorized with a great deal of attention to detail.

We had a great time at White Birch resort! Home #5 was big enough to house all 22 of us. The hot tub was heavily used due to the rainy/gloomy weather. Kids enjoyed the playground being right in the front of the house. Checking in and out was very easy. Definitely will be considering White Birch again in the near future. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

We truly enjoyed our stay at White Birch Resort. Our family stayed at Cabin 8. We loved the privacy of this hidden gem. The pool was close by and just a short walk to the beach. The playground was a nice surprise for our 2 year old granddaughter. We bought our own pontoon, and had plenty of space to dock it. The cabin was neat and clean. We loved having a washer and dryer for all the towels we used. We didn’t have hot water one day, and Monty was Johnny on the Spot to fix it. We definitely will be back! Thanks Monty and Sandy!

We are from Canada. We booked a cabin in July 2020 but couldn't get to the US during the pandemic. Our concern for the lost holiday and wasted financial outlay was treated with callous disregard. The pat response was 'You should have bought cancellation insurance'. There was zero empathy for our loss. We worked hard to try to make something work but at every turn we were met with a 'it's not our problem' rebuttal. We were outright lied to on more than one phone call when we discussed ideas and made requests. It was really stressful for all of us. The resort may well be very nice (the pictures certainly

I would not recommend booking this cabin. We booked for a family reunion summer of 2020 and as a result of the worldwide pandemic, international borders are closed and we could not visit the cabin even if we chose to take the risk of traveling. We began the process of trying to cancel in March and they stonewalled us for 3 months under the guise of being hopeful the pandemic would resolve by the time of our stay. When push came to shove they were unwilling to budge and planned to charge us In full ($7214 for 4 nights!) so we requested they rebook the cabin; which thankfully they were able to do

The owners, Monte and Sandy were the so helpful in planning our parents anniversary/reunion.
Yes we did purchase traveler insurance like they recommended in case we could not attend. We did stay a whole week and everything was top notch.
I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone, and yes if you are concerned about the cancellation policy buy the insurance. There is no reason to blame the resort if you cannot go like some of these Canada people are doing.

This is a beautiful facility, immaculate. I am sure it is hard work to maintain rental properties so nice which may explain the surly proprietess. The husband couldn't be nicer, deal with him. There's plenty to do, hiking, boating, a pool and floats, the lake is pretty with lots of birds and a nice temperature for swimming. Wi-Fi is spotty, if it's that important bring a booster and not all the cabins have a hot tub so if you care ask.

Decor is beautiful north woods/fishing theme. We stayed at the cabin with a hot tub which was a big hit! Loved the BIG dining table and the fireplace. Grandkids enjoyed the movie room downstairs during quiet time. 6 bedrooms, 3 full baths met all of our needs. Towels/wash cloths and kitchen towels are not furnished which was fine, but we did find it odd that we had to vacuum before checking out.

My family and I were looking for a place to relax and get away during the winter time. We were able to enjoy the best of what Minnesota has to offer. The ice fishing was great and the homes were very spacious. We enjoyed the hot tubs. Monte and Sandy were very kind. I would definitely recommend this resort to family and friends.

We had an amazing family vacation at White Birch Resort. The "reunion house" we stayed in was beautiful and plenty big enough to accommodate our family of 13 with room to spare. The kids enjoyed the inflatables, pool and of course our hot tub on the porch...which the adults also really enjoyed. It was a great week!! The weather cooperated even if the fish did not. Just a good reason to try it again another year. Monty and Sandy were great hosts and filled our every wish (oops! Almost...no blender)
