I have several friends who live here. They are happy they sold their homes and moved to Fairwood, all for different life circumstances. However all are dissatisfied with the meals provided. One is unhappy that vegetarian meals are not planned ahead. Menus are always “cooks choice”. Another is dissatisfied because if they attend a later meal seating the kitchen constantly runs out of things like bread, or dessert. My friends are at a loss to explain why their requests for better organization/customer service is ignored by staff or management. Food is important at this stage of life. My husband

I currently just moved my Grandmother today. I was greated in a super friendly and supportive way by all staff that I met. From the movers that moved her belongings, (as well as set the room up for her) to the nurse on duty, to the staff taking care of her and the others. Everybody was so kind and helpful!!! They are more then accomidating to the needs of her about her privacy and everything else.

When staff take time to write in that can be a great thing. Especially if they have their own parents living at the community they serve as a long time employee. That says a lot. I would never have my own parent reside somewhere where I wasn't proud of the service and care and her safety means everything to me. Fairwood has many staff who have been with the community for a very long time. Not many retirement communities can say that. We consider this a blessing to have individuals who give their time to serve elders for many many years. We also have many second and third generation residents living

My mother lived at Fairwood for about 6 years. During that period of time her monthly fees went up by about $200.00 a month. Staff were always taking home extra food to feed their families...no wonder they had to keep raising the fees. Maintenance was always so slow to fix problems of concern. Quite a few times I had to go in and have a chat with management. My mother hated when I did that because they would hold it against her by not being friendly and giving her the cold shoulder. I was actually threatened by the activities director and told not to complain or my mom would be put on a list and

As a former staff member of over 10 years, I personally was able to learn all aspects and operations of this community. Not only did we as a team strive to go above and beyond to ensure residents and family members needs were met but we made it our goal to create a cozy family like atmosphere for all to enjoy. Fairwood Retirement has been family owned and operated for over 25 years and the career longevity of most of the employees and the continuity of the residents reflects how amazing and wonderful this community truly is. Fairwood Retirement was such a wonderful part of my life and I cherish
