I had a great experience speaking with the staff at the Malaekahana Beach Campgrounds regarding our reservations. They were very friendly and responded promptly to my phone call and email. Special thanks to Tabitha for facilitating the reservation changes for our 'Ohana.

Great value, and the Hales and suites are right on the beach. Love to fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of the ocean. Family friendly, and waves were light enough for beginner surfing.

This place is our favorite place on Oahu! Highly recommend! Tip: The numbered blue and yellow sheds through the camp are bathrooms, they just aren’t clearly labeled. Our family didn’t realize this for the first day and were walking further than necessary to find a toilet. Haha!

Hidden gem for those wanting a more authentic Oahu experience! I suppose we came "off-season" and post-pandemic, so we might be a bit fortunate; We felt like we were at our own little piece of paradise. We stayed in the Hale 14 which was great because it was close enough to walk to and hear the waves, but far enough that I felt like my son wouldn't wander off into the surf. My son is 5 and I feel this is the perfect age to stay off the beaten path. Our Hale was so affordable and exactly what I'd expect when paying less than $60 a night. You can only stay 10 days. There is a gate to keep random

Perfect for camping in a tent or with a campervan. Only place we found to accept car camping options. On the beach with beautiful sand and great waves, fun to play around in. Perfect spot to watch the sunrise.

The staff is awesome. The camp ground is so nice and clean. My son and i caught some young teenagers going through are stuff , we caught them as they were leaving , they only took a bottle of water. they were shocked and quietly left. I had to refrain my teenager son , but he understood. Both of us have had times in are life where we were little punks too.. but besides that , the place is so safe. There is a well respected local UNCLE who runs the show there , so i was there for two weeks and i saw no locals there who were looking for trouble . the place is full of familys and mainlanders like

The guy name stretch who work the night shift. Come into my campground kicking stuff 2am in the morning with kids and a disabled in our party'. Yelling causing problems over a reported stollen log? Unbelievable. The place is a joke and the guy lucky I never punch his face. We left the following morning. I plan on following a harassment lawsuit. Don't lose money on this place. Pay good money to get woken up by a maniac supposably who work for the park? Filed a complaint and they don't care. My only regret is not calling the police.

Pros: Extremely cheap and you're right on the beach.
Cons: All the bushes and wooded areas I saw were covered in trash, it was very disappointing. I know they can't control the roosters, but they start at 4am and go all day long so every day is an early rise. The campsite is also full of feral cats (someone comes to feed them every night). I wish I would have known that there weren't any private showers, so if you're there for a week you're using an open platform to try and clean yourself.

Love it! Best experience ever! Safer place for your car and stuff, plenty areas and space to walk and have a good time with family and friends, super clean and people who works there are very friendly all of the times. At night you can see the Milky Way is so mesmerizing you can feel you can walk to the space from there. Have to book with enough time. There is a market super close where you can quickly go and get groceries at last minute. Is not really hot at night we even need a blanket to seat at night by the beach.

Spacious campsites. Not all sites have campfire, we had our weber. The beach is beautiful & private. BYOTP - Bring Your Own Toilet Paper. Outdoor showers and restrooms are convenient. No lights either. Many roster/chicken fams. Less than 5 stars is to the booking details. Must consistently call to speak to a live person to book.

We stayed in one of the Hales and it was exactly as advertised. Clean upon arrival, easy check-in with friendly customer service at the front desk, and an absolutely beautiful beach right outside our front door. There was also a large food cart pod just a 5 min drive up the road with unbelievable food. Definitely would highly recommend this spot!

Save your money!!!! You're better off camping on a city and county beach. The Hales are over priced at 58$ plus GET and transient taxes. No lights, bathrooms aren't too far. Showers are basically a cold water spout in the open. Staff are strict on following the rules. No inflatable pools, no extra tents, 10 people per camp site, even if you're outdoors spaces apart.

I give this a 5 star because the beach is very beautiful, it's clean and most of all the camp area are nice. Bathroom is clean, shower area is everywhere. We came here with friends and it was fun because u can do bonfire, area is wide for the kids to run around and play without disturbing other campers. I would totally come again..

Looking for a affordable weekend with the family? Look no further. If you are a kamaaina, you can stay in the small Hale that sleeps 4 for $50 a night! It's roughing it but I survived a two night stay and so can you!

The Plantation Hale comes with nothing. You basically have a place to sleep. No amenities. There is an outdoor shower (cold water only) and toilet (byoTP- toilet paper) both shared with others. Each Hale comes with a fire pit which is super cool! We like Hale 1, 2 , and 3 because it is ocean front. Bring everything you need as if you were tent camping (grill, sleeping bags, coolers

I've always wanted to go camping on Oahu, but I never really found the time nor the right place! Plus, since I'm on a college student budget, it wasn't easy. But my friend JohnNick found this place just in time for spring break!

There's a discount for kamaaina, so it was an extra plus! Malaekahana provides multiple camping plots depending on the days you want to be there for. You have the option of either camping in one of their provided cabins, to camp in your own tent or to even camp in your own vehicle! We opted to using my Kia Rio lx and got very Pinterest-y with it (using

Stayed here a couple times and always enjoy!!!
Just made reservations again online and upon receiving my confirmation. It showed the wrong suite... so I emailed and left message. And Tessa corrected it and re emailed me... I know this is her job. But it being so easy was a big comfort to me... there's two other ladies who work in the office. They are all awesome...

I went camping here with friends over a weekend. We rented a small hale cabin which only had 2 bunk beds with mats on them. You bring your own sheets, pillows, etc. and there is a restroom that everyone shares in the common area.

Even though we rented a hale, we used it to store our things and lock it with a padlock. There are homeless people that lurk at night and steal your stuff and when you check in they even warn you about them.

While storing our stuff in there I noticed fresh rat droppings all over the mats and floors and it seemed a rat chewed through the top plastic cover of my son&apos

We really liked the site. We reserved a spot (2C) close to the beach, bathroom and shower area. I would highly recommend this spot. We loved the chickens waking us up in the morning and keeping us company throughout the day. We also enjoyed the short walk over to the beach where we watched people fish and take surf lessons. Oh and did I mention the customer service is super awesome?? :)

Tip: Reserve in advance. They get booked up pretty quickly.
