2020 marks our 48th year in business. Our custom apparel subsidiary, Carlson Murray, has roots in Chicago dating back more than 100 years. Former Chicago Mayor Harold Washington recognized us for our longevity and business contributions to the city. Over all of these years, we've witnessed many of our customers begin their careers and ride off into retirement.

I came into the store about 20 minutes before they closed, and they were able to take care of me and provide me with all the items I needed. Not only that, they were also able to stitch some items for me too. Most places wouldn't do something like that 20 minutes before they close, so I appreciated it.

Excellent product selection, staff is not as efficient as they should be.
I have come to VCG for years, in fact, probably since shortly after they opened. It has always been my go-to place, rather than travel downtown or to the Southside. Prices are usually very good and they have a great selection. However, this time after playing police for over 39 years, I came and ordered something and was told that it would be down the next business day. Well, I came the second business day after and my order wasn't done. The associate almost acted as though he didn't want to tell me that they

Thank you so much VCG! I was in urgent need of assistance this morning and Adam went above and beyond for us today. My husband was to receive an award early this morning, and needed a uniform component (customized name plate) made before the ceremony. With no time to spare (rush hour traffic, 9 am ceremony start) Adam gave us special exception and helped us before official open hours so we could make today's ceremony. Wow. So friendly and great service. Thank you VCG for making today even more special!!!! You guys are the best!

I just love this place....all the staff is so friendly....I went there for one pair of pants and the lady in the front which I think she is from Europe it's such a sweetheart...I try it my pants on and they were to long,she came and measured and everything was ready in 15 min...for sure I will be back again and for sure!!

This is my favorite uniform store and I wouldn't go anywhere else. The staff is exceptional and have stayed late/worked extra to get things done for myself and others. A recent vest cover that I received fit perfect and was finished in remarkable time. The personal service offered at VCG is too notch. I have always had a pleasant experience when I go to VCG and I will continue to go throughout my career. Highly recommended.

I went to vcg last October and the experience was horrible. I waited 45 minutes for them to hem two pairs of pants i had purchased. They seem very aloof and didn't care that I had been waiting that long. Seems like they don't care about certain customers, specifically the females.
Decided to go in today hoping that it had been a one-time bad experience and gave them the benefit of the doubt....big mistake. I was there for an hour and a half! Since i take pride in myself and like my uniforms to look neat, i went pack to purchase another two pairs of pants. First, I had to take the initiative

They seem to only care about their large contracts like with CPD. We have used them for years and will never be there again.
Not only have they screwed up our orders but they get mad if we aren't there right away to pick them up and send them back or sell them to others. But when you want to get in contact with them (even about paying them) they are never available.
Absolutely not helpful in any sense and have no idea who makes their products. Or just think its a secret and don't want you going elsewhere for the product.
