Following in his father's footsteps, Steve Zwierzynski began repairing wet basements and crawl spaces in 1975. Mentor and teacher, Steve's father has been repairing wet basements since the early 1960's. After having seen just about every possible scenario and the various ways to fix things, Steve was ready to go out on his own and established Gold Star Waterproofing in 1991.
Steve's son Nate recently graduated with a degree in physics and has joined the Gold Star team. With his background, Nate brings a whole new perspective as he joins the business as the third generation to handle basement waterproofing. Steve is known for being able to diagnose difficult problems as well as efficiently solving straight forward leaks.

Gold Star came recommended by another waterproofing company. Steve came out, inspected my problem and eliminated one likely cause of a water issue in basement of newly bought home—hydrostatic water pressure. Having eliminated this cause, and as the foundation is solid, he diagnosed the issue as a plumbing issue. In any event, i highly recommend Gold Star: responsive, knowledgeable and honest.

Gold Star did a great job with my egress window that had been flooding and leaking water into my basement. Steve and Nate were both excellent to work with -- very knowledgeable, friendly, and responded quickly to calls and emails. Highly, highly recommend!

Steve at Gold Star came recommended by another waterproofing company in town (my job wasn't a good fit for them). I can see why they recommended him. He's very knowledgable about the region and the local water issues, he was prompt and exceptionally helpful, and provided me with great recommendations for how to address my basement's issues. Would highly recommend.

We were looking for estimates on what turned out to be a small crack in our foundation. Called Gold Star and Steve came out the same day. Other companies gave me appointments at least a week out. Took a look at the foundation and found the crack we had not seen before. Also pointed out several areas we could fix ourselves, such as sealing next to the cement on siding and digging out around the foundation where the builders had put dirt over the siding. Sent out a contract the next day that was less then $1000. We accepted it and they came out to fix it in less than a week. Did a great job and answered

We are preparing to renovate our basement, and wanted a professional assessment before doing so, as we had some minor water intrusion several years ago. I called several companies specializing in whole basement systems, and they recommended Gold Star as a better option for my project. Steve showed up on time, assessed the problem areas, and recommended solutions without pushing for overkill. He had a quote to me the next day, and after getting a few more quotes, we decided to go with Gold Star, as it provided the most bang for our buck. Within a week of signing the paperwork, Gold Star was on site

We are trying to close on selling our property. We had an appointment with Gold Star and my husband was taking off from work to be home for the appointment. Shortly before the appointment, Gold Star called to say they were not going to make it but would try to come out the following week. The following week my husband called asking for them to please come out, that he would make himself available by leaving work at anytime that would work for Gold Star. They called back and said they were out of town for 8 days! How were they going to come during this week if they weren't even in town.

Steve does great work and I recommend him over any other waterproofing company. My Company All Gutter Systems can help with roof Drainage, but if the problem is cracked walls or underground leaks then call Steve. Very Reasonable pricing. By the way Steve is the owner and does the work himself. I would send him to my parents or grandparents without worry about them spending tens of thousands of dollars his average job is far less than 2,000 often less than a grand.
