Acquaint Gathering, your Simply Vintage Venue, welcomes thousands each year to experience dream weddings, amazing anniversaries, beautiful bridal and baby showers, enjoyable end-of-life celebrations, and everything in between. Built in 1889 and now one of the oldest buildings in Grain Valley, this beautifully restored chapel is Eastern Jackson County's best kept secret.

My bridal party and I filled out the online inquiry form on the website to be contacted in the middle of September. We didn’t receive a response in a timely manner so we gave it about a week before calling the number listed. Laurie (presumably the owner) seemed great and concerned about the inquiry form not working. We told her we wanted to book for sure but wanted to do a walk-thru first so we could see the venue in person and planned to provide the deposit and sign the contract at the time of the walk-thru.

I highly recommend book your next event at Acquaint Gathering. We just held our wedding and reception there and Laurie was amazing! The space accommodated our 60 people very well and never felt crowded. We received so many compliments from our guests on the beautiful venue. Laurie provided our decorations and took care of everything. Our day was very relaxing as she helped coordinate the timing and worked with our DJ. I'm so happy we chose this very reasonable venue for our special day

My cousin had his wedding here years ago before the ownership change and I was impressed by the venue. But the new owner, Laurie, was almost impossible to get ahold of. After several voicemails and emails from me and my fiancé we finally received a response and scheduled a tour for Saturday May 1st at noon. At 10:48AM in the day of our tour, my fiancé received a text message stating that “...the party that was scheduled for the day was starting early and that she would not be able to show us the venue today”.

I love absolutely everything about Acquaint Gatherings especially the owner! She's hands down amazing. The venue is absolutely beautiful inside and out. She takes so much pride in everything she does and making sure everything is absolutely perfect. For small weddings, this place is perfect for wedding/reception which is what we had. Our wedding day was flawless, ceremony and reception. She kept everyone in line as far as the bridal party and telling us where to go and when. You definitely won't be disappointed here.....thank you so much Laurie, you are so amazing and we are so blessed to have

I can't say enough about our experience with Acquaint Gatherings. It was so perfect and sentimental because it used to be our old church that had been perfectly refurnished into a beautiful venue. However, the small best touches about any old church were kept intact. The owner was absolutely amazing and attentive. Laurie went above and beyond to rescue us in our time of need due to the cancellation of our original wedding plans that were effected by COVID-19. She met us multiple times and worked with us to help plan a very nontraditional small wedding on short notice. She was so helpful, sweet

Hosted a Bridal Shower here! Laurie is awesome to work with!! If you are looking for a place to have a wedding or any special occasion, this is the place! The venue is adorable, and Laurie has options to decorate your tables and centerpieces! All the decorations you see in these photos were provided by Laurie!! 😍 She also has the backyard decorated with two different patios with coverings and so much more!!
