The Oliver Building is a hidden gem in Kansas City. We cannot recommend this venue enough! We had our wedding there 10/9/21 and it was everything we could have asked for. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure your day is amazing. Steve, Caitlin and Curtis were life savers and you could not ask for kinder people to work with. In our pre-wedding planning meetings they covered every detail we could think of. On the day of our wedding, I've never seen people work harder than Caitlin and Curtis. The Oliver building did a fantastic job with our wedding! The cost of the venue compared to the amount of space and time we got really made our decision. A huge main reception area, downstairs cocktail area, bride and grooms suite as well as a guest suite allowed us to feel relaxed and at home the whole day of our wedding. They only do one wedding a weekend which allowed them to focus on our day and made working out the timing and rehearsal very easy. This venue is stunning! We kept decorations simple so as not to detract from the character and beauty of this historical building. The team made our time there easy and enjoyable. We had the space from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon, which made decorating (and undecorating LOL) a breeze. No wedding night scramble to clean up = priceless! I can hardly wait for pictures of our daughter's wedding. I know they will be breathtaking. Five Stars - totally recommend!

I got married about a month ago and had my reception at the Oliver Building. We had a large wedding with about 260 people. We were so impressed by Caitlin, Steve and the whole team. We were not the most organized couple as we did not use a wedding planner but Caitlin was always super responsive, patient and professional in working with us. We hosted my daughter’s wedding reception at the Oliver Building in July 2021. We started with a cocktail party on the first floor. There were 260 guests and there was plenty of space for movement but the room did not seem too large. We moved upstairs for dinner and dancing. And again, there was ample space for a head table (18 people), two buffet lines, dance floor and seating for all the guests. It is a wonderful place to host a wedding reception because in addition to the physical space, the Oliver Building staff is committed to customer service. They are quick to respond, flexible, and helpful

If you're thinking about having your wedding at the Oliver Building, then I hope this review convinces you to DO IT! Curtis & Caitlin were incredible, and really helped make our day go perfectly. They met with us multiple times, and worked with us to have everything set up exactly how we wanted it. I highly recommend this venue to anyone thinking about having their wedding here.

The Oliver building is a beautiful space and I can’t wait to have my wedding there this summer of 2021! Steve has been super helpful and patient with us with all of our questions and concerns. He makes the wedding planning process a breeze. 100/10 would recommend using this space as a venue.

The Oliver Building was hands down the best experience my wife and I have had with venue coordination. The Oliver Building made sure we knew exactly what to expect every step of the way. They have exceptional hardwood floors as well as flexible options when it comes to every piece of venue rental. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to get married in the KC area!

We had our wedding reception at The Oliver Building and it was wonderful! Steve and Nikki were very accommodating and flexible, which lessened the anxiety for me as the bride. Also, the space is INCREDIBLE. A very open floor plan that should be able to handle multiple layouts + the gorgeous exposed brick and wood that give the building it's character. We loved it!
A few other perks: good + secure parking, a cool vault you can use for a photo booth, etc., easy access from downtown, multiple screens for videos or a slideshow and more. I highly recommend for a large event!

The space was beautiful, a combination of rustic austerity of an antique industrial space brought into the present day with skill and care.
The space has a very accommodating capacity, and will provide the perfect backdrop and setting for a wide variety of events.
