Orthopedic Specialists of Oakland is a place of excellence. Dr Bahu and Dr Tisdel along with their staff have being doing a great job putting me back together from a fall. Every aspect of their team has been a joy to interact with. They are like clockwork and treat me as a life that matters to them.
Gerald (Jerry) Thomas is a board certified Physician Assistant who specializes in orthopedic care. A native of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Jerry completed a Masters Degree in Exercise Science from Western Michigan University. Jerry worked as a personal trainer before completing his Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from University of Detroit Michigan.
Michael Pointe is a certified Physician Assistant who specializes in orthopedic care. Michael completed a Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Practice from University of Dayton, Ohio. As a Physician Assistant for Dr. Bahu, Mike routinely treats patients, assists in the operating room, rounds on in-patients and provides pre-operative and post-operative care for surgical patients.
An ankle sprain occurs when the strong ligaments that support the ankle stretch beyond their limits and tear. Ankle sprains are common injuries that occur among people of all ages. They range from mild to severe, depending upon how much damage there is to the ligaments. Participating in sports that require cutting actions or rolling and twisting of the foot-such as trail running, basketball, tennis, football, and soccer.
Arthritis literally means inflammation of a joint. It is more commonly known as wearing out of our joints. When arthritis occurs, cartilage (which is the material that covers the ends of the bones) begins to wear leading to inflammation and pain. When enough cartilage wears off then bone will be exposed and lead to persistent pain and disability.

As a patient of Dr. Kassab with a recent tkr, I praise the Doctor for having the best physical therapy team. The team makes it fun for you while you are there receiving therapy. They help you keep your mind off of the exercises you are doing along with the push they are giving you to get you threw it. I thank them all for the excellent care they have given me and how much better I am feeling than when I first started. I want to thank you for your patience and compassion along with giving me the motivation I need to reach my full potential on my new knee.

I was counting down the days until my appointment. All the staff members were outstanding. Trained the way I was trained years ago. Nice to see a Male assistant on the staff too.
The xray tech was so kind. She worked quickly and accurately so that my severe pain was minimized . Of course Dr Kassab was in the office today even though he had to give me bad news and a big shot in my knee
Good news that he could help me with a double knee replacement, Cannot wait! Thank you Dr Kassab and staff!⚕

There is only one way to describe Dr Kassab……..he is a magician! My wife has had both knees replaced by him with zero complications.
He fixed me up with a couple of injections today & results are amazing. My knee will need a future replacement, I will use him for sure. He has a wonderful disposition and makes you feel comfortable by talking in terms you can understand. St Joes Hospital was extremely professional and attentive.

The staff and service at Orthopedic Specialist are absolutely Fantastic when I was seen in the practice in 2020 and was informed on the damage to my knee I tried other techniques prior to knee replacement. I finally had surgery May 2021 and the Care has been Phenomenal the doctors are wonderful. And the Bloomfield office staff are very patient and kind

I have been pleased with all the therapists that have worked on me helping me get my shoulder back to good working order again after rotator cuff surgery. I went to the Clarkston office and Josh, John, Jolene and Autumn were all great. They are very friendly and professional at the same time. The equipment is cleaned after every use.

The whole staff is awesome,Dr.Ward is a professional caring doctor and has concerns for his patients to strive for excellent he has the heart for his patients to get better to the full compasity to reach the goal of being completely healed. He spend time with you without rushing ask if the patient has any questions or concerns and give you advice on the situation that you have i recommend that if any one is in need of a orthopedic doctor i recommend him.
