Oakland Orthopedic Institute started in 2018 as a practice with two physicians and a mission to change the way clinics offered orthopedic and podiatric care to their community. We drove that new standard through a commitment to excellence, innovation, and learning to continually define patient care standards.
Dr. Paul C. Lewis is a Michigan native. He graduated with his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and went to Michigan State University for his medical degree. He completed his residency in general orthopedics at Garden City Hospital.
After his residency, Dr. Lewis completed an additional year of fellowship training, specializing in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine at Tampa, Florida's prestigious Florida Orthopedic Institute.Board-certified in 2001 and 2012, Dr. Lewis is an associate clinical professor at Michigan State University, and he's a member of the Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

My first time visit here. Receptionist was helpful. Pens for use cleaned often. Screens for info entry cleaned often.
Called in quickly for my appointment. Check in nurse was thorough and helpful. Dr. Gordon was very helpful. Explained exactly what she was going to do, how my insurance worked, and the best plan to continue fixing my toenail problem.

This office is amazing!!!! I saw Dr. Lewis for an ongoing issue with hand pain. Previously diagnosed with CTS, I was worried I would need surgery. He figured out my issue right away, and it wasn’t CTS. Still treating but without surgery. He is one of the most down to earth doctors I’ve ever met!! He actually talks to you and explains everything in non-doctor terms. Later, I then tripped and fractured my foot. I Saw Dr. Gordon, she is also an amazing doctor. So friendly and knowledgeable. She too is very down to earth and will sit and talk with you. Not on a computer the whole time, rushing

I’ve had a bad back for 30 plus years. I’ve had 2 lumbar laminectomies and over 30 epidural injections. After my longtime pain management office closed, I asked my family dr to find me a new dr. Don’t let Dr Kandtz boyish looks fool you. His injections were painless and he took a fresh look at my history and made a suggestion that worked. I highly recommend him!

I highly recommend Oakland Orthopedic Institute. All of the staff members were absolutely fantastic! Not only, was the office very clean, the staff professional and knowledgeable, but they were also compassionate.
I had to take my 3 year old and 10 month old to my son's appointment and staff members offered to keep an eye on my younger two, so I could be by my crying son's side. Thank you again for your kindness!

Love love love this place from the very first visit I received a warm greeting and excellent service. The Dr. as well as staff were wonderful knowledgeable and most of all caring. I had to have surgery and lots of paperwork that followed the staff(Kim and others) as well as Dr. Lewis were very helpful in getting things completed in a timely manner they went above and beyond....kudos!!!!
