Length of employment - 1 year Continuous Employment with no gaps & Proof of Income (POI) Required. Credit History - A minimum of two open trades required - (one trade for a minimum of 12 months). I discovered that the Central State credit union does not have good systems in place to contact their members once the member has moved. They dropped the ball when mail sent to me was returned -- they did not call any of my 3 numbers on file, nor did they send me an email to either of my email addresses on file. They did withdraw money from my account for "bad address" for two or three times without trying to reach me by phone, though. I've closed my account with Central State Credit Union and will only use Golden One Credit Union from now on since Golden One has better customer

Great place! I opened an account here to re-establish my credit during my divorce 12 years ago. After 3 years of paying on my share secured loans, I was able to buy a house. A few years later, I was able to finance a vehicle and obtain their awesome fixed rate credit card. Reestablishing credit takes time, and along the way the staff and the management were very helpful and personable. I appreciate this credit union and their helpfulness.

I've banked with Central State since I was in high school and have had nothing but great experiences. I've used multiple different branches and have had friendly, quick service each time without fail. Recently, I unfortunately had to close my accounts since we moved out of state and needed a local credit union in our new area. PayPal attempted to draft from my closed account rather than the new one and I incurred some fees as a result which were quickly reversed and corrected within a five-minute phone call. Until last year, I have banked here since 2003, so I feel qualified to write a review. For a long time, I enjoyed the personalized service and friendly atmosphere. Not sure what has happened to Central State, but it is no longer the same institution. I closed my account months ago due to a move, I now have a statement incorrectly stating account is overdrawn. Unfortunately, I also cannot reach anyone on the phone to handle the issue.
By the way, I agree with the other reviewers. The ATM is extremely annoying.
With so many other good banking options, I cannot recommend this place.

Only annoyance? MasterCard debit only gets $100 of gasoline at Pilot, VISA GETS $150!!!
Also have trouble with MC debit at Atlanta, SeaTac and Dulles airports, bad places to be cardless~so traveling and when gasoline shoots back up to $4.00 plus, will be using my G***** O** Visa Debit instead.
Service is wonderful and fast, current location is ok, loans were always quickly approved. Member since the 1973 Stock-Tel days, and the only problems I've ever had are with ATM cards. Getting replacements quickly was problematic, and when they refused to give me two cards in my own name, one for

If I could give them a zero, I would. This credit union is a joke. If you want an ATM that never works and when it does stops mid transaction this is the Credit Union for you. If you want to never be able to talk to anyone in case of emergency as I need to today, again this is your credit union. If you want a great credit union with a working ATM, great hours and easily access to your money, find another credit union. My husband has been standing out there for over an hour since all account information is frozen on the ATM machine and he was depositing cash so if he leaves who knows what will happen

This is just for their ATM machine. Anytime I try to deposit cash it never takes it all on the first time. Today it wouldn't take any of my cash. I'd give it ZERO stars if I could!!!! It's absolutely frustrating. They need to fix this problem because it is a hassle to have to go back during work hours to deposit in the bank!!!

Love this place for location and convenience and because we have banked there a longgggg time. I always recommend it to others. Im just VERY DISAPPOINTED they used to be open saturdays and now are NOT. PLUS because they were open saturday they were closed Mondays. So now, no saturday and STILL no Monday ! I use the ATM more which i hate but its there if i need it.
