We consider ourselves a family here at National Karate, and we'd love to tell you more about our story. National Karate was founded in 1974 by Grandmaster Jim Butin. Before starting his school, he was a world champion in bare-knuckle karate. Mr. Butin has taught thousands of people in our community and has made a huge impact on the lives of many students.
In 2018, two of Mr. Butin's own black belts, Phillip Rosier and David Steece, took over ownership. Phillip and David started taking classes at National Karate at the age of 6 and they both received their black belt at a young age. They have competed across the nation and won several national championships.

Services
From ages 3 to 5, this class is 30 minutes and will not have more than 10 students in each class. The little ones will learn basic karate techniques through different drills that focus on balance, coordination and listening. This is the age for our students to become socially and mentally ready for full school days.
Whether you want to have a fun birthday, participate in one of our Ninja Nights, enroll in karate camp or create your own event, we have a fun and safe environment for everyone. Our birthday parties start with a 30-minute fast pace martial arts class led by our instructors and the birthday kid. After class, the group will go to the party room for the planned activity (cake, presents, etc.).

My son started when he was 3 and David showed so much patience and kindness towards him. The kids have so much fun and learn much more than just karate. My son's focus, discipline, and patience all improved in the time we spent there. I highly recommend this fantastic place!

Our granddaughter and her mother have been going to National Karate for several years now. The owner's and the other students have become a second family to them. Before starting karate here our granddaughter was shy and quite the introvert. They have really brought her out of her shell and she is growing up to be very confident and comfortable in her own skin. We are all so pleased with this school and proud of our girls. Karate has been such a wonderful bonding activity for her and her mother. Thank you National Karate for being who you are in their lives.

National Karate is amazing! When we wanted to get our kiddo into martial arts when a friend or ours sent us to National Karate. Right off our we were hooked! David and Phillip are amazing instructors and we couldn’t be happier. Our kiddos has grown in skill and confidence, his classes are one of his favorite times of the week!

We have been a part of the National Karate family for 3 years now and couldn't be happier! When I say family, I really mean that. Everyone is so kind, professional and we have made some great friends along the way. My son started taking lessons and soon I decided to try out the adult class. It is a great work out with a lot of comrade. No tough guys attitude here, and for that I am greatful. David and Philip will work with you where you are at. Everyone is welcome here. We would never go anywhere else!

David and team at National Karate are fantastic. They not only teach martial arts, but also self defense, self-discipline, and compassion. They instruct with kindness and purposeful intent. It is a great environment to place your kids. They also do a fantastic job instructing adults. My son, my wife, and I have all taken lessons there.

New karate gym and new coaches for my son!!! We're so happy!! Fantastic crew, really professional, great with kids, and a really nice dojo!!! The soft clean mats make it look so nice! I love the reward systems they have for the kids such as getting a stripe on your belt for good grades in school and attendance! They even have a beautiful art deco bathroom that's always kept clean!! We love it!!
Plus...they took an immediate personal interest in my son and preparing him for the upcoming tournament we previous had planned before switching!
