Our classes are designed to fit all levels of experience from the beginner to the more advanced. Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program is taught by Robert Drysdale Black Belt, Seth Norman.
Professor Norman is proud to represent the sport as Edmond's very first homegrown Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt. At Oklahoma Martial Arts Academy in Edmond, we have dedicated kids martial arts programs. Our kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) and MMA classes are an excellent alternative to kids karate or taekwondo. BJJ or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a grappling martial art that ultimately ends up on the ground. Here's a very short example of what that looks like.
To sign your children up and use your Epic funds for lessons just send an email to oklahomamartialartsacademy@gmail.com with the words EPIC STUDENT in the subject line. All we will need is the students name, age, grade and parent or guardian's name. We take care of the rest! Remember Epic only pays for tuition.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend themselves against a bigger, stronger, heavier assailant by using proper technique, leverage, and most notably, taking the fight to the ground, and then applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat the opponent.
All students are required to wash their hands upon entry. We also require (this isn't new) to have all of your gear clean before each training session. We will not have a spectator area at this time. If you are bringing your child to class and wish to stay, that's fine, but please limit one parent per family and if possible leave siblings at home.

I am an ex pro ballet and ballroom dancer who is now a personal trainer. After being taught in a group and private setting by professor Norman I can tell that he is truly a meastro of his craft. Not only does OMA provide a top a notch training program but they are a welcoming family. I learn the ins and outs of the Brazilian Jujitsu on a daily basis, more importantly though, I have made a lot of great friends doing it. This is an excellent facility. If your looking to get a great work out and want to grow by being in a humbling situation every day, this is the place and these are the people to

This place is amazing ! My first visit I didnt know a soul, but they welcomed me in and made me feel like family immediately! After my first week I was hooked, not only on the people, but the Jiu Jitsu under professor Seth Norman is truly top notch! I couldn't think of a better family to train with knowing I'm going to be safe everytime I leave! Would recommend to anybody for any age! ØŚŚ

After researching and endless googling i came across Oklahoma Martial Arts Academy, and sensei Seth Norman. I was looking for a place for my daughter to learn a martial art as she was interested in wrestling. Having been a huge fan of martial arts and MMA in general i knew BJJ was the way to go, so i signed her up for the free week. She loved it so much i put my other kids in as well.
Dont get suckered in to 99% of the other Jiu-Jitsu dojos in Oklahoma. Research them and you will find most may know BJJ but have never competed or reached their max belt. OMA on the other hand is the real deal. Seth

This place is more than just a gym, more than a place to learn an art, more than just an academy. OMA is a family, and a home, and I wouldnt let my family train anywhere else. The love and support from not only the coaches and staff, but from all of the students is something I will never give up. The coaches are great, especially with the kids classes! Training at OMA has changed so much for my family, all positive changes!

I brought my 5 year old son in the middle of last year to try it out, he loved it, I signed up a few weeks later, followed by my 3 year old daughter and finally my wife, who is not the athletic type (or at least she wasn’t). OMA has had an incredibly positive impact on our family, our children are not only learning self-defense but other positive attributes; coordination, respect, balance, and confidence to name a few. We spend more time together because my wife and I are not trading off kids to go workout by ourselves but instead are training together and with a purpose. The level of coaching

Seth is a Stallion who I would never want to run into in a well lit area let alone a dark alley and I'm pretty sure Janie can take me! Michael Parker is a great white ninja and there are tons of others that support this all star coaching staff. People don't realize the caliber of coaching and knowledge that this gym has to offer. I'm convinced this is the premier spot not only in the city but in all of Oklahoma.

Great gym with great people! Two and a half years ago I never would've dreamed I would be doing martial arts... but now I will never stop! The OMA family made me feel very welcome and continues to give me a perfect environment to grow and learn as a martial artists and as a human being. No matter what your skill level is OMA is a great gym! If your looking for a gym that will love you and push you to your limits, this is the place.

OMA is so much more than a place to train. It's a community, a family, & a place you can work on ALL of your fitness goals at your own pace. Coach Seth, Coach Janie, & the rest of the instructors are an exceptional group of people that really care about every individual that steps through their doors.

After my first class I was instantly in love with this sport, I couldn't believe it. For me, jiu-jitsu was something that I wanted to try out to get into incredible shape, however, I found that it was much more than that. Every class I have attended thus far has challenged me not only physically, but mentally as well. The only regret I have is not beginning this incredible sport sooner. If you are looking for an amazing way to get in shape, to feel great, to be able to defend yourself in a fun, exciting environment, then this is the place yomy.
