The campground is so easily accessible from Harrisburg, Gettysburg, Carlisle and Hershey, yet a world away in terms of peace, quiet, and sheer relaxation. Whether your definition of camping involves a tent, pop-up camper, trailer, motorhome. The "Park of the Year" award is the highest honor given to campgrounds, RV parks and resorts.

Charlie and Lucille Strub, owners of Dogwood Acres since 2001, are humbled for winning this award. We are blessed to have such great folks that come and spend their summer vacations with us. With the generous outpouring of assistance that comes from watering the flowers to maintaining Frisbee baskets, to keeping individual lots spruced up, this award is for all of you, too.
Services
With 100 spacious and shaded full hook-up sites, along with tent sites and cabins, Dogwood Acres has you covered. Whether your family brings a tent, pop-up camper, trailer or motorhome, we've got the perfect site. If you are new to camping, you can rent one of our three styles of cabins to enjoy a family camping vacation experience that is sure to last a lifetime.
Come join us for our clean up weekend. Meet friends and enjoy being outside. Stay 1 night free with 4 hours of labor on Saturday 8:00AM-1:00PM, followed by a welcome back thank you BBQ lunch. We want to honor our service men and women and give all active/retired military, policemen, firemen, and first responders, 1 free night with their stay.
Dogwood Acres Campground is easy to reach from both Interstate 81 and Interstate 76 (the Pennsylvania Turnpike), as well as the cities of Pittsburgh and Harrisburg. The campground is ideally located in South Central Pennsylvania, only 35 miles from Harrisburg and Gettysburg, and only 11 miles from the Carlisle Auto Shows.
Dogwood Acres Campground has helped many charities during its 40 plus year history. Since our purchase of the campground in 2001, charity fundraisers have become annual events. Our seasonal campers chose Ronald McDonald House Charities as the primary recipient of our efforts. We contacted the nearest house, in Hershey, PA, and spoke with Kathy Denton, its Executive Director.

Lovely site, quiet, clean, well kept. Toilets were really clean and bin and washing up set up clean and well signed. Fire and logs ready when we arrived, animals a fun added bonus but mind the chickens they are very nosey and like to take a look in your tent, the goats weren't annoying at all despite the warning on the instructions 😊 lovely weekend!

Just got back from a three night stay at Dogwood.
The owners, Katy and Phil are very friendly and the site has a very peaceful vibe.
We loved the constant birdsong and it was nice to have the chickens, ducks, goats and rabbits wandering around the site. Seeing Phil and Katy trying to run Dino the Shetland pony around the site was hilarious.
Due to Covid restrictions only the toilets were open and they are single booths and a reasonable standard. There's a great washing up area with plenty of hot water and plenty of recycling bins adjacent.
There's stacks to do in the area and we would highly

We had a one night stay in the yurt and it was lovely. Phil and his wife were very welcoming and helpful and the Yurt was fabulous. The log burner kept the yurt toasty warm even on a very cold eve. The yurt was well equipped and beds super comfy. Showers weren’t open due to COVID restrictions but toilets and facilities were clean and very functional. Great place the kids loved the goats and pony.

Would highly recommend this campsite if you are looking for a very quiet relaxed stay, Katy & Phil were very welcoming and helpful. A lovely brand new and spotlessly clean toilets and shower block area. The animals were also highly entertaining. Will visit again in the future.

Highly recommend dogwood campsite, chickens, ducks, pygmy goats, guinea fowl, roaming around. Beautiful settings will definitely be using again in the future, all social distancing measures in place. Very clean toilets/spacious showers.

Really friendly owners (and goats) and a lovely secluded cozy camp site. Basic but clean facilities, shower and toilets, and even a small shop run from their house with the basics. A few hard standings with electrical hook-up. We visited in November and it was welcoming (if not a bit muddy on the field hard standing) This would be a beautiful place to visit in dryer months but still a lovely small family run campsite. The owners even gave us a map with the closest pubs and other interesting places. Well behaved dogs are welcomed but must be kept on a lead at all times due to an unfortunate incident

I had a lovely ,three night stay. The hosts and other campers were friendly and helpful. A beautiful country walk to the local pub which serves high quality food at very reasonable prices.
A nice array of animals visit your tent and the sky at night is perfect for star spotters as there is such low light pollution.
Lovely , quiet spot to unwind.

Lovely campsite, very pleasant owner, quiet secluded and environmentally friendly.
Can’t believe a comment about it being expensive, it’s very reasonably priced, the facilities are a bit basic,BUT, they’re clean, they work and the shower is hot.
Camping is about taking it easy, relaxing and not rushing.
We have been to many campsites over the years with lots of showers that were cold.... not good!
Yes another shower would be a good addition, more from the point if the one went wrong there would be a back up.
Nice walks and pub nearby, we loved it and would definitely go back, love the
