Neighborhood Physical Therapy is an independent, outpatient physical therapy practice founded and owned by me, Jessica Santucci. I am a physical therapist with over 17 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics. I offer a personalized and stress free environment in which to care for individuals who suffer from acute and chronic pain, sports-related injuries, work or accident-related injuries, or other conditions related to just plain old life!
My practice is located in Decatur, near the intersection of North Druid Hills and Lawrenceville Highway, and close to Emory University and the Toco Hills area.

Services
I am a Physical Therapist with over 17 years of clinical experience in the outpatient orthopedic clinical setting. I am also an Atlanta native and a 3-time Emory University graduate. In 1996, I graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from Emory. A member of the varsity tennis team for 4 years, I earned All-American status and an NCAA team championship during my senior year.
Physical Therapy is so much more than just doling out exercises for the rehabilitation of different body parts. Why throw a bunch of exercises at a shoulder if there is underlying dysfunction going on within the soft tissues/muscles and in the joint itself? You might feel better temporarily, but its usually not for long.
It is difficult to make a complete list of all of the "specific" diagnostic conditions that I can treat. I can deal with any specific diagnostic label that may be given to almost any body part from your head down to your toes. I frequently tell my patients, when they come to me with a very specific diagnostic label, that my job is to treat the soft tissue, joint and nervous system dysfunctions that they bring me.
Having worked in several different busy outpatient clinics in the Atlanta area over the last 17 years, I recently decided that it was time to take the plunge and branch out on my own. I have worked in many different outpatient facilities that take insurance; however, they do so at the expense of quality patient care.
Georgia state law allows a patient to have physical therapy for 8 visits or 21 days, whichever comes first, without a referral from a doctor. There are some cases where a referral is not necessary. This would include a patient who is returning to physical therapy within 60 days of discharge from prior physical therapy, or those who are seeing a physical therapist for fitness and wellness.

I previously treated with larger PT companies and found the lack of personal attention to result in slow progress. Jessica was able to address my injury in an efficient manner. While my problem was relatively minor, I am sure that, given the depth of knowledge that she demonstrated, Jessica is well equipped to treat all varieties of injuries. I highly recommend Jessica to anyone seeking physical therapy.

What surprised me the most was that my doctor and an expensive scan could not locate the problem, but Dr. Santucci found it in the first session. You were able to perform and assign therapy exercises with pinpoint accuracy to help alleviate my muscle pain. In just three sessions I’m pain free, able to sleep comfortably and back in the gym. Thanks Doc.

I was having a recurring problem with my knee; feeling out of place, clicking, and like it might give out at any time. Dr. Santucci listened carefully, examined my knee, and explained what she saw happening in a way that I could understand. She then provided some hands-on therapy with clear exercises to strengthen and re-align my knee. After three visits, I'm back to bike riding and walking without issue. She is knowledgeable (Professor at Emory), professional, and got results. I'd rank her higher if I could.

I have been dealing with severe issues with my hip since October 2013. After seeing Jessica for a few visits, my hip felt unbelievably better! No more constant ache, I can comfortably lie on my left side, etc. I would recommend Jessica to anyone. She's incredible. Cares for the whole person, the whole body, and takes time with you. Strong professional and very punctual.

That was really awesome! I have never been to a physical therapist so it was very interesting. I had massive pain in my right shoulder after working a lot and playing a LOT of tennis and not stretching properly, but already after one visit to Neighborhood Physical Therapy it was much better. After 2 sessions and some "home work" I got, I am almost cured totally. Jessica KNOWS what she is doing for sure and she is extremely patient focused so I can highly recommend her if you need physical therapy: )
