We love caring for eyes of all ages and providing full-service eye care ranging from annual eye examinations for glasses and contacts to medical treatment of various eye conditions as well as emergencies.
A Chillicothe native, Dr. Ashley Ritchie has returned to serve the eye care needs of those in her hometown and to continue offering the quality care that Dr. Schaefer has been giving for 40 years. Born and raised in Chillicothe, Dr. Ritchie graduated from Chillicothe High School then attended The Ohio State University for both her undergraduate (Bachelors of Science in Health Management) and Doctorate of Optometry (O.D.) degrees in 2009 and 2013 respectively.
After graduating, she practiced at private practices in Raleigh, North Carolina and West Palm Beach, Florida before returning home to open Chillicothe Eye Care and provide care for the people of southern Ohio.Dr. Ritchie lives with her husband Jeff, a fellow Chillicothe native, and together they have a son Cooper, daughter Naomi and dog Raleigh.

We are accepting new patients and take most insurance plans plus have affordable options for private pay. Diabetic retinopathy is the leading cause of blindness in America in people under the age of 60. Unlike many urgent care or ER settings, we are equipped to accurately and quickly diagnose and treat your eye conditions.

One star because I have to in order to write something but I came to pick up my eyeglasses I'm vaccinated so the pandemic has eased up everything's going back to normal slowly and I'm asked to go get a mask so I can get a mask I even told her I'm fully vaccinated just like everywhere else they're taking their own precautions so what would it matter with the public's doing I won't be going back and I even told her that

Dr. Ritchie is an amazing doctor and her rapport with patients is unmatched. She put both me and my six year old son at complete ease, and explains each process as she’s doing it. I love that she’s a native Chillicothe resident who finds joy in providing top notch service to her community. Young or old, Dr. Ritchie is the optometrist for you!
