We have been securing structures throughout the Los Angeles Metro area for over three decades. A Soft Story Retrofit is the process of reinforcing buildings which have a ground floor or lower level floor vulnerable to earthquake damage. In most soft-story buildings, the area of the tucked under parking spaces don't have the necessary supporting structure (steel frames, load-bearing walls) to keep them from swaying during a quake.
Earthquake retrofitting can effectively save your property or building from extensive damage during an earthquake. Most of these are very minor, but every few years a magnitude 6 earthquake occurs, which can be very damaging to structures that are not fit to reduce earthquake damage. If you are a property owner, it is critical that your building is adequately retrofitted to withstand seismic activity.
One of the biggest dangers of living in a seismically active zone is that earthquake tremors can cause damage to building structures and even potentially endanger life. Homes that are structurally retrofitted or upgraded can withstand the force generated by seismic waves much better than homes or buildings that have not been structurally retrofitted.

While the weight of the house serves to keep it secured to the base - during an earthquake, the house can move or slide off of the foundation. However, homes that have been reinforced with foundation bolting or a foundation brace and bolt will be in a much better position to withstand an earthquake.

Jim was very thorough, he came back after the initial assessment because he wanted to double-make sure we were going to perform the correct and neccessary repairs.
These guys are also super on time, never showed up late or they let me know way in advance.
It was easy to get a hold of them with some special requests I had on my side.
Angel and his team were awesome too, good communicators and they didn't leave a mess at the construction site.

I called LA Structural with a time-sensitive situation regarding my home and luckily Dale was available and took the time to understand what I needed and refer me to the right person. Most people will not take the time to consult. He was so helpful. He even reached out to that contact ahead of time so he knew that I would be calling and also know that it was urgent. Dale and Angel have been amazing! They did a fantastic job rebuilding our clients foundation and did it efficiently and faster than we hoped! This is a company with integrity. Our house was built in the 30's with a raised foundation. There had always been a slight slope at the front of our house. Having lived in it for more than a decade, we finally thought maybe we should have a professional take a look. We called LA Structural for an inspection on our raised foundation. Nick came and took his time to crawl under the basement and did a through inspection. He could have told us there was a problem, and I would be none the wiser. Instead, he explained the layout of our foundation, and that the slope is due to normal settling

I had an issue with my backyard not draining properly due to the developers of the complex, I have an almost fully concrete backyard with no drain or no slope. Jake met with me at my house and explained a few solutions that he would like to explore. Within a week I spoke with Jake about the proper drainage solution it would take to solve my issue. Knowing that it would be a costly solution Jake did offer me other possible solutions, which included removing the concrete in the backyard, possibly importing new dirt if my existing soil didnt absorb water fast enough, making the backyard lower and
