Kyle and the team were great! Called when they were about to head to my house, showed up when they said they would, took off their shoes, protected the floor and walls while cleaning out the mainline, did a thorough job and there were no surprises with the charges. A) Drains back up for a variety of reasons including: (1) Roots. Any line with improper or worn seals will allow roots to grow through the seams; (2) Improper installation of the drain line; (3) Objects that should not be flushed, including wet wipes, paper towels, feminine products and grease. A Yes, it's a good idea to have your main line cleaned at least every five years.
At Ron the Sewer Rat, we've been serving Twin Cities area for 46 years as the premier sewer and water service line contractor. Due to our longtime service to the region, we regularly need new plumbing experts to join our team and service our expanding client base. Jon arrived at our house yesterday and got the job done! He was professional and thorough. He asked us if we preferred for him to wear a mask, cleaned up after himself and even shoveled a path to our side door because he didn't want his machine to mess up our wood and cork flooring! Christian was awesome. He was friendly, professional, and timely. He was very knowledgable and gave me some great recommendations for taking care of my old south mpls home. As a newer home owner I had some general knowledge extra questions in addition to the drain that needed to be cleared. He cleared that, left the house spotless and was overall wonderful.

Trent was super kind and very responsive. I had tried to snake the toilet myself prior to calling and unknowingly scratched the bowl all up. He stopped back after he fixed our issue to scrub it out with pumice stone and was super great about it. Great work and good price. Would certainly recommend!

We had Jordan from Ron The Sewer Rat come clean floor drain and main line from roots (we do this every year). Jordan was very thorough - brought in a second machine to make sure he got all the way to the city line (needed an addition 64ft). He took a video, pointed out cracks that needed prompt attention, gave us phone numbers of recommended places for that service, and even checked out our lint traps. While this should have been a 2 hr job, Jordan spent nearly 4 hours fixing the problems Roto Rooter was not good enough to find and take care of. After all this work, we were expecting a hefty upcharge

Had drainage problem in the bathtub, call them and was able to get appointment on the same day. They give me a phone call first to let me know they were on their way. They text me ahead of time to let me know who was coming, a picture of the technician and small brief information about him. They charge me $148 very reasonable. It would of been 5 stars If I didn't had such a bad experience with the person on the phone who made the appointment. We needed our main sewer line unclogged (thanks Richfield plumbing) because the spring roots in the ground were causing issues in our basement drain. We called a handful of people we got recommendations from and Ron the Sewer Rat was able to come and snake out the main line to get it all cleared out in literally less than 15 minutes from hanging up the phone to see if someone was available. It's been about a month since they came out and we've had no issues (knock on wood). The guy who came out also was super willing to answer any other plumbing questions we had, which is a lot because

I had a drain clog and didn't hesitate to call Ron the Sewer Rat for the second time! The first time was for a second opinion for a drain situation and Trent came out to help. I found them to be VERY honest, professional, and friendly. This time, I was able to schedule promptly and the work was done in a very timely manner. Purchasing a home and called Ron for an inspection. Technician came out but couldn't scope because of roots blocking the line. He indicated it would have to be cleared first. I authorized him to do the work but he had only booked time for an inspection so would have to come back. I was charged for this initial scoping and would have to pay for another scoping tied to the cleaning. Such a scam.

Fixed a slow/clogged drain in the laundry room, will definitely be using them again! Easy to schedule an appointment online, great communication from both office staff and repair tech. They even called to offer us an earlier appointment if we wanted which was nice. They also sent text updates which was great. Repair tech Trent was friendly, got the problem fixed quickly, straightforward & fair pricing for the issue. Will 10/10 use again!
