Services
Dahl & Groezinger, Inc. - Kentucky's oldest scrap iron and metal processor - was established in 1885 by George Groezinger, Sr. and Phillip Dahl. In 1867, George Groezinger met Phillip Dahl on a ship from Stuttgart, Germany heading for America. George and Phillip were employed by Mr. Lacer to buy hides, wool and pelts for his American company.
Dahl & Groezinger is dedicated to making the recycling process an easy and rewarding experience for every customer. We provide a safe and clean environment to make recycling a simple, enjoyable, and rewarding process. We maintain a full service metal recycling facility and work hard to offer the most efficient transaction times in the industry.
Dahl & Groezinger buys a wide assortment of scrap metal from a variety of customers. We buy material locally and sell throughout the country and across the globe. A CSX railroad spur runs through our property and we also own a facility across from the Owensboro Riverport. This allows us to transport scrap metal by barge, railcar, truck, and overseas containers.
Exchanging your scrap metal for profit is an easy process with Dahl & Groezinger. We have been able to help customers - both individual suppliers and businesses - earn money for their scrap metal since we began recycling in 1885. Recycling scrap metal also gives our customers peace of mind in knowing that they are being responsible with the earth's valuable resources.
Dahl & Groezinger provides scrap metal recycling services as a way for customers to obtain cost effective pricing on materials, reduce waste, and recoup costs. On a more global scale, we are committed to increasing sustainability, preserving natural resources, and reducing landfill usage. We operate a variety of cranes, shears, balers, Bobcats, and torching equipment to allow for the efficient processing of scrap metal.

Definitely the best recycling center I've been to in the entire country. Very polite and respectful service. I have other buyers in different states but always choose to bring my items back to Drew and John. Always competitive prices and will have my business for years to come.

- Mr Coots' statement is entirely false and slanderous.
The facts: Mr Coots brought in 4 different items. Each item was weighed individually. His receipt was itemized with each item and the price. While being paid, Mr. Coots stated that he thought it should be worth more.
We offered to re-weigh his entire load. He declined. We offered to re-load his entire load so he could sell it elsewhere. He declined. We asked what else we could do to resolve the situation. He asked to be paid the amount on the receipt. He was paid and left the yard.

They absolutely were the most unprofessional and biggest thieves in all the shady recycling places I've been!!! They used ever trick in the book to make a 600.00 dollar load turn in to 300.00. Then got enraged when it was brought to they're attention. They lower your material quality greatly and cut your weight beyond belief don't let they're long standing fool you they are all worthless crooks
