Joe and Angie Nelson are "eco-preneurs" and proud owners of eWaste Direct, Inc. Founded on Earth Day 2008, eWaste Direct, Inc. was created to divert electronic waste from landfills by offering multiple services to businesses and commercial buildings throughout the greater San Francisco bay area. As an approved collector for the state of California, eWaste Direct, Inc. is passionate about protecting the environment.
Everything that is collected is carefully examined for potential reuse. If material is not available for reuse then using only industry standard approved facilities, the company dismantles, separates, and recycles electronics for commodities such as plastics, metals and precious metals. From our computers and printers, most of our racking, office supplies, and even boxes and packing material over 90% of our operation runs on reuse!

Did you know that deleting a file does not erase it from your hard drive? Some individuals might think formatting a hard drive may be an alternative to erasing information off a hard drive; this is also false. Think of all the information that you have saved on your hard drive. This is all pertinent information that thieves look for when trying to steal identities.
Certificate of destruction will be issued upon completion along with itemized log of units. This plan will require a 25 unit minimum of Hard drives and/or Data tapes, up to 999 units. All units must be pulled from any hardware and removed from any caddies prior to collection. The units will be collected and secured in our containers and transported single chain custody to our warehouse for shredding.
Technology plays a huge role in maintaining a competitive edge with other businesses of the same industry; typically, this requires updating information technology equipment such as servers, laptops, phone systems and network equipment on a fairly regular basis. Removing high value assets to be replaced with newer items is called Asset Management.
At eWaste we have a toner cartridge recycling program where we can deliver a special box that is 22 x 22 x 30 and can hold approximately 20-30 toner cartridges. Each box costs $25 and the fee includes dropping off and picking up full boxes. You put your empty or unused toner or ink cartridges in the box (please try to put in original packaging or in a bag to avoid spills).

I own an optometry clinic in Walnut Creek. As a healthcare provider, safeguarding patient information and privacy is almost as important as patient care itself.
We had a computer failure. We took out the hard drive and recycled the rest of the electronic components. I ordered a hard drive destruction kit from eWaste Direct. The company sent me a prepaid USPS Priority box for my item.
I sent the hard drive over to eWaste Direct. A few days later I received an email with a certificate of destruction along with a link to a video showing the drive being dismantled/destroyed/being sent to hard

Hands down, the best I have ever had!
eWaste Direct is simply the best. From Veronica, who I work with to schedule our pick ups and facilitate our battery recycling program, to the drivers who show up on time and as scheduled. Everyone is professional and friendly and helpful.
Oh, and did I mention the ewaste pick ups are FREE? Yep, free!
Like I said - they are simply the best.

The owner is a great guy and he will grow this to be a bigger business. They don't like people to drop off junk at their warehouse so you have to make an appointment for them to pick up stuff or for their okay to drop off at a set time once they know what you want to get rid of. Cost me $0 to get rid of old computers and monitors so it was a win for me.

After two weeks of dealing with tons of emails and no-show folks from Craigslist...I had enough. I came across eWaste Direct. Via the user-friendly website, I submitted a "residential service" pick-up for the date that best suited me and hit submit. Within hours, I received a confirmation call. Good bye 70 inch projection TV...and I feel good that I recycled it. No hassle, very professional.

I was looking for a good way to recycle our old, HEAVY tube TVs and found E Waste Direct will do free residential pickup if you have 5 or more substantial items (TVs, computers, cable boxes, etc.). If you have less than 5, the pickup fee is $20 - still very reasonable.
I signed up for pickup via their website and got a call within 30 minutes to schedule the pickup date (available the next day). During pickup, both men were friendly, prompt, moved the items easily, and took great care not to ding any walls on the way out. Highly recommend their service.

When we decided to dispose of our old electronics equipment (including a 10 year old television that HAD to weigh about 3 tons), we called EWaste. What a great decision! Carrie, who set up the appointment, was friendly and professional. What a concept - a company that actually acts like they want to do business with you.
Our appointment was for between 10:00 and 12:00 and an EWaste rep knocked on our door at 10:00 on the nose! (HAD to love that!) EWaste charges 20.00 for pickups if you have less than 5 items to donate. If you have 5 or more items though, the pickup is FREE!
It was good

I had a massive television to dispose of and after reading some bad reviews for some other services that pick up old electronics, I thought I'd give these guys a call. Everyone I spoke with was super-pleasant and helpful, even recommending that I could avoid the minimum $15 pick-up fee if I gathered up five old devices from friends and co-workers. (Then it's free!)
Scheduling was a breeze, and the driver (Drew "The Forklift") showed up right on time. He treated my floors with care, in and out in less than 5 minutes.
Their website advertises that they dispose of electronics
