I called Karen with very short notice for a birthday cake I needed in less than a week due to the last straw I had with my regular bakery we normally use every year. I expected that no one would be able to do this but she was happy to accept the job! Right off the bat I was pleased talking with her, which was a pleasant change from what I'm used to dealing with from our former bakery. I learned about Karen through our venue, the Lodges at Gettysburg. When my fiancé and I went to our private tasting with her she was so attuned to the style we were looking for and gave us ample time to try the samples to choose the flavorings that we liked. My now husband who doesn’t generally like cake was impressed and loved the chocolate and lemon flavors!

Cake tasting was by far our favorite part of wedding planning. We chose to go with Karen Rodkey because the cake was delicious (and not only did we do the tasting in person, but Karen sent us home with leftovers so that we could be sure we'd selected the perfect combo of flavors), her pricing is reasonable, and it was obvious that as far as decoration goes, Karen is very skilled and was willing to bring our vision to life. We've heard so many good things about Karen's cake and were indeed impressed during our cake tasting. Karen is always available and easy to work with. She may not get back to your email immediately but just simply call her, the old fashion way. We LOVED the cake. Our guests still kept saying how tasty the cake is. I wish I had more time to eat and taste the cake at the wedding (Make sure you save some pieces for you later). We are so glad to choose Karen for our wedding cake.

I cannot recommend Karen Rodkey enough! She let us choose three different cake flavors and made us mini cakes for the tasting which we got to take home with us! They were all SO good - in the end we choose snickerdoodle cake and red velvet and we have heard nonstop from our guests about how delicious and moist the cake was!
