We are a small team with different background and experiences - but with one common goal: strengthening communities through local solar power. Gary is a senior executive and strategic thinker who has been a leader in developing the clean energy market in Maryland and Washington, DC, through innovative marketing, partnerships, business management, and legislative advocacy.
He is the founder of two entities focused exclusively on marketing clean energy, Clean Currents, a socially responsible for-profit and the Clean Energy Partnership, a nonprofit. As President of Clean Currents, Gary ran the entire sales and marketing side of the business, which grew to reach $22mm in annual revenue.

Services
Neighborhood Sun is your friendly clean energy provider with a mission to provide everyone with affordable and clean community solar. You get a share of the energy output from a community solar farm in your area and it is credited to your bill. You accumulate savings because the cost of solar energy is always less than the utility's standard offer, thus lowering your electricity costs every month.
You get a share of the output from a local community solar farm while earning a credit on your bill, lowering your electricity costs. Anyone with an electricity bill can tap into shared solar, not just the select few. Our customers receive an average guaranteed savings of 15% on their electricity bills every month.
Finally, the power of the sun belongs to everyone, not just a privileged few. Thanks to state legislation, those who historically have the smallest carbon footprints can now save hundreds of dollars annually on their electric bills. The best is that it does not require a roof, home ownership, or any solar installation at home.
During your application, you authorize us to review your historical electrical use. We use the past 12-24 months of your electric history to calculate the average amount of kWh you will need each month. Payments are based on the amount of electricity generated by your portion of the solar farm, not your actual kWh use.
Neighborhood Sun is a community-focused, grassroots clean energy provider that saves people money on electricity and helps our environment with a simple switch to community solar. Neighborhood Sun is committed to building wealth, health, and jobs for our community members and future generations.

So glad that we became a part of this important, community-based solar power effort. It's a win-win-win: win for customers because they pay less for electricity without any sign-up fees, win for local communities because the projects create local jobs and win for the company because they can prove the financial value of undertaking these types of forward-thinking investments. The sign-up was easy and Neighborhood Sun has been very transparent about the project, its progress and the fact that this is new to everyone. There was a billing error, but they resolved it readily.
