I'm not too educated in cars and mechanics. However, I would say I have a good read in people. I can say that I had a good feeling with this establishment the first time I got an oil change from them. I usually go to the one on Mathilda, but with shelter-in-place, I decided to go to their El Camino location.

My go-to mechanic because of reasonable prices, friendly staff, and honest work. I can feel Ramon and the mechanics just care about doing what's right for my cars. If you're going to wait around while they do the work, best to call ahead to confirm availability, and then you can wait in comfort at House of Pho next door or Denny's down the street.

Came here on a recommendation from a good friend. Brought in my GMC Sierra. Told the guy I loved my truck and he pointed outside to his GMC Sierra. He said he loved his too, was an older year than my already older truck but really showed me how much care this man put into the maintenance of his vehicles. Went in for a full 100k mile tune up, and my truck came out feeling like brand new. Timely and amazing service.

These guys did my transmission seal twice and couldn't get it right. Instead of refunding quang ask another $200 to redo it. We cannot pay for your training. When I go to the transmission specialist, we tried calling Quang and didn't answer the phone or reply back. I wonder he even do it in the first time, coz after the second time it was leaking more oil. Always get second opinion on what he recommends.

Looks like Mr. Nguyen's gonna weasel us out of $1900 after all.
Our car had a leak. Mr. Nguyen said it was the transmission. After his mechanic "fixed" the transmission leak. The car was still leaking the same that evening. It wasn't the transmission as Mr. Nguyen so kindly offered to replace for an additional $4500 after supposedly fixing it in the first place. It was the engine that was leaking in 3 different places. Granted one of the leaks was near the transmission, but whatever. We got took.

My jobs require that I have a car. When my Corolla died, Quang and Mike prioritized urgent repairs and gave fair rates. Quang told me to have the car checked before I drive to Arizona. Very glad he did because I had a massive oil leak and would have been stranded and missed work and unable to afford towing and repairs. I have been a customer for 6 years and refer family and friends.

The guy here is very helpful and totally understood me when I described the bad experience I had with the SMOG CHECK across the road.
He looked at the report of the previous failed check and suggested me to drive my car for two sessions with a 2-hour gap and then come for a re-check. And it worked.
This guy is an expert and is a very pleasant/friendly person. He is way better than the j*rk at Green Smog Check right across the street.

Last two trips, he has been asking me to change struts. He then was asking someone else to change struts as well.
I have a feeling he found a good deal on some struts, and added a zero or two by mistake while ordering them.
I was worried, I took my car to the dealer to ask them the condition of the struts, and he said they were fine, and would last a lot more!

I am really disappointed with the quality of service that i received from this shop and have serious doubt about the integrity with which the business is conducted.
I had taken my car for oil change and they brought to my notice issue with struts. I ended up spending $950 for 4 struts and the guy told me it had a life time warranty at the time in 2016 i would not need to spend anything if it ever broke. it would last for ever.
Sure enough 2+ years later in 2018 - 2 out of the 4 struts started leaking again. i took the car back to the shop - Now he tells me..labour is not covered and for the 2

I bought my car at Toyota Sunnyvale and purchase a maintenance package five years ago and a couple months before my maintenance package expired they asked me to do a lot of updates on my car which made me very suspicious of its necessity. Furthermore, they gave me a quote that was way too expensive for a brake flush and throttle change (total more than $300+), I came to Quang and he gave me a quote for 2/3 of the price for brake flush and gave me his honest opinion that it's too early for a throttle change for only 30,000 miles on my car.
In sum, Quang could have told me to replace my throttle

Have been using Ivy and Truman services for about 2yrs for our 2003 Camry and Beetle. The guy is very knowledgeable and reasonable in pricing. He explains the issue and helps you make the right decision about repairs. During oil change, he checks and recommends other fixes or near future fixes, also suggests when they should be fixed. He does NOT mean to scare you but to educate you. I have had experience where mechanic scares and recommends you to fix things right away, sometimes they are not even needed.

Just moved to the area. Read some reviews and decided to go to Firestone that had mixed reviews but a coupon - mistake! The reviews are so true about the manager there they wasted 1/2 my working day. Any who, I decided to try Ivy & Truman the next day for a simple oil change, WOW what a difference. This place is way better than any of the corporate places like Jiffy Lube who tries to up-sale you on a bunch of stuff you dont need and make you wait just to get attitude from whomever is behind the counter. Not here! They are full service and had me in and out within 40 minutes with nothing but politeness

This guy Ivy who I think he also goes by Quang is a total fraud, dishonest, very rude, confrontational, and a game player. We are almost new to the area and found the place randomly. Only needed a smog, yet ended up with few other repairs that were a complete shocking and surprise since we have our own mechanic who just doesn't do smog. We were not even told about the repairs in advance and yet served with a hefty bill at the end and when we tried to confront him he loudly said "well i told you people and

These guys are so efficient. I came in for 60k maintaince service for 2012 Sabaru outback. Pretty good price and the services was so efficient that I only left the car there for less than 2hrs all the works were done. I am so happy with the services. The staffs were helpful and friendly. The service was great. Definitely recommended and I will be back.
