Services
Connecticut Wells is a family owned and operated well drilling company located in Bethlehem, Connecticut. Operating since 1966, we work with homeowners, HVAC contractors, architects, engineers, contractors and developers to install geothermal cooling systems and geothermal heating throughout Connecticut, New York and New England.
The company was founded as a water well drilling contractor in 1966 by Thomas Mahan, Jr. A young man with the belief that the customer was the number one priority, Tom spent his first few years in business teaching himself how to drill water wells and keeping up with his simple motto, "Treat people exactly how you wanted to be treated."
A well is a hole that is drilled deep into the ground. The top portion of the well is lined with casing to prevent collapse and stop any contaminants from entering the water supply. A pump sits at the bottom of the well to move water up through pipes to a distribution line. A well cap is placed at the very top of the well to provide sanitary protection and safety.
With over 50 years of water well drilling experience, Connecticut Wells' project managers will work with you to plan, permit and execute your project efficiently. Hydro-surge (Hydro-fracture)- Hydro-surge is a water well development process that forces clean, potable water under high pressure to open fissures and flush blockage from the veins and fissures leading to the well, resulting in an increase in water yield.
As fuel prices continue to rise, your clients are probably becoming more aware of alternate ways to heat and cool their homes. If you're looking for a way to diversify into "greener" technologies, Connecticut Wells can help make this happen. Connecticut Wells works with architects and engineers by offering conductivity testing and test wells to determine an area's performance and feasibility for geothermal energy.

Our experience with Connecticut Wells was top notch. We needed a new well for our house we recently purchased. After driving past their billboard on rt 8 a few times, I decided to give them a call one morning to have them give us a second opinion. Don was able to come out a few hours later and we had a new quote within 24 hours. He was very knowledgeable and experienced which made us feel confident in our decision to use Connecticut Wells. Their whole team was professional and made quick work of our new 360 ft well. They setup a nice containment fence while drilling and did a wonderful job with

After getting no water out of our faucets, I texted Don late in the evening and he responded within 15 minutes. Don, and all the folks at CT Wells, were an absolute pleasure to work with. We had Roger Craig replace our pump and CT Wells did our hydro fracture in our 600 foot deep well. We now have the most water we have ever had in the 15 years we have lived in our home. I would highly recommend them!

I was having water issues so I contacted several Well companies to get a price for a hydro frac and after some deliberation I chose Connecticut Wells. The main reason for my decision was that they were one of the only companies that did a zone frac which is what I wanted. They came out and surveyed the area and informed me that one of the rhododendron bushes that I had next to my well would need to be moved, so I dug it up and moved it further from the well. The well crew arrived on the day they were scheduled to come and told me the other rhododendron bush would also need to be moved but told

We had a geothermal well of 480 feet drilled and installed on our residential property. Now, 480 feet is a lot of depth! The entire process was handled flawlessly by CT Wells, who are genuine professionals in their field. These guys know what they're doing.
Once we signed the contract, they initially set up a fencing area, then they carefully listed the process step-by-step. They kept to schedule and followed through on all technical requirements to ensure that the job was done right. The well is guaranteed by CT Wells for 55 years.
Rob Loftus was our project manager and was easy to work with

Roger Craig Pump & Well Service recommended Connecticut Wells to perform the drilling of a new well for a recently bought home. Roger Craig had provided an estimate as part of the buying negotiation and we decided to go with them given solid recommendations and obvious knowledge of the business and players. Their recommendation to use Connecticut Wells was more evidence of that.
Don Bard was our point of contact and his professionalism was a welcomed presence given all the less impressive vendors we have engaged over the years. He explained exactly what would happen and handled all the local town

CT Wells came to my rescue! Rob Loftus was thorough in assessing our problem, direct in describing our options and helpful in making decisions. Running out of water is a stressful experience for any home owner, he was also sensitive, kind and reassuring throughout the process. His crew worked professionally with my plumber and excavator. They also consulted with my irrigation company on the day of drilling to confirm the 'new' well would meet our needs Our problem was solved! I highly recommend CT Wells!

Service was fantastic, timely and personable! They did exactly what they promised. I appreciated their honesty when I asked about a different system (that would have meant more profit for them) but they said it would not be a smart choice for my home. I tried contacting other companies prior to getting the work done, but this one was the only one who made me feel like I wasn't just another number. Fully recommend.

They care about doing a good job, not just about the money. They showed up on time and took care not to destroy my yard. They hydrofractured my wells, and took care to do a good job instead of rushing through it; the results are better than previous well drillers. I highly recommend them. Don was a pleasure to work with.
