Lake Norman Anesthesia Associates and Pain Management has helped set the standard for anesthesia and pain management services in the Lake Norman area for over 25 years. At Lake Norman Anesthesia Associates all of our physicians are board certified or board eligible anesthesiologists who work in close conjunction with our certified registered nurse anesthetists or physician assistant to provide you with the safest and most comprehensive care.
We understand the challenges of chronic and acute pain and combine our expertise with the diagnostic and therapeutic tools necessary to relieve one's pain. Our providers develop personalized plans of care to address each patient's specific challenges. We believe in a holistic approach to pain management to address not only the physical aspects of pain, but the psychological and social manifestations of pain, as well.
OnabotulinumtoxinA, or BOTOX, was approved in 2010 for adults who get chronic migraines who have both a history of migraine headaches and headaches of fifteen or more days per month (8 of which are migraines). Researchers say the results of this small study show that BOTOX may also be a useful addition to physical therapy to relieve neck pain caused by chronically contracted muscles.
Celiac plexus blocks are injections of pain medication that help relieve abdominal pain, commonly due to cancer or chronic pancreatitis. The celiac plexus is a bundle of nerves that surrounds the aorta, the main artery into the abdomen. Blocking these nerves from carrying pain information can help stop pain in the abdomen.
A cervical epidural steroid injection is a treatment method for pain in the neck and the upper region of the back. Upper back and neck pain reportedly affects 50-80% of adults at some point in their lives. There are numerous conditions that may cause neck and upper back pain such as cervical radiculitis, a herniated disc, strained muscles, and pinched nerves.

Dr Todd Massey is a very kind and compassionate doctor. He has helped me so much with my back, always went the extra mile for me and I appreciated that. The office staff is very friendly and work with you as much as they can for appointments. I have seen a few different doctors for my back and I can honestly say Todd was the best one yet, what I really liked about him was he would give you options and not just say this is what will do. I’ll start by saying that, even though I have several pain management offices within a reasonable distance of my house, I choose to drive an hour to go to this specific office. The doctors and staff are very skilled, caring people. Having lived with chronic pain for decades, and having multiple back/neck surgeries, I was still living with pain that my neurosurgeons couldn't remove. Dr. Leguerre and the staff at LNA are wonderful. I've been a patient there for over 5 yrs. Dr. Leguerre listens to you and explains in normal language how he can help ease and control your pain. Colleen, Sarah and the rest of the staff are always easy going and pleasant . Dr.Laguerre and his nurse Colleen are the best in their field of work. I’ve been with is practice for 10 years now and I wouldn’t see another doctor if you paid me to. He is totally awesome. Colleen is the best nurse in the world. I told Dr.Laguerre on my last appointment that he doesn’t need a office manager with Colleen there because she does everything for their practice. When she is there everything get done. When she’s not there nothing is done correctly in my opinion. She deserves a big raise because she runs that practice to me and does it well by herself. She knows how to do everything
