SW7 is named after the borough of South Kensington in London where sisters & owners, Catherine & Margaret, grew up. It was the perfect name to connect their roots with where they live now. We are locals to Kensington & wanted to open SW7 in the neighborhood where we live & shop. Supporting our community is important to us & we are excited to be a part of its continued success.
With a focus on art & design & fun, SW7 presents a fresh look on gift giving. It's a place where people can pop in to say hello, find that unique gift, a card, a lovely bag and be on their way to the party.

Legit the cutest store in Montgomery County! The owners are so wonderful to chat with, Margaret helped me find the perfect gift for my boyfriend's mom. I couldn't resist buying a gift (or 5) for myself as well. It's a pandemic, I can treat myself to cute things, right?
Overall, really wonderful, unique selection in the store. Lovely shopping experience. Can't wait to go back!

SW7 is one of my my favorite shops - wonderful selection of cards, home goods, and much more. I've discovered many items there that I love and use frequently. During the pandemic, they've done a great job keeping their website updated with their available products, as well as offering Face Time shopping. The customer service is terrific. It's a go-to for gifts as well as for myself! Don't miss it!

I ran across this locally owned store on Facebook a few weeks ago. I have now purchased items from the them twice. The sisters who run the store are thoughtful and kind. They'll even personally delivery an order. If you're looking to support a family business with unique and creative products be sure to checkout SW7 in Kensington, MD. You won't be disappointed.

I adore this small gift shop! They have a nicely curated selection of bags, cards, stationary, candles, housewares, cocktail items, etc. etc. And they couldn't be more helpful or friendlier. In fact they are having a small business special today, and you can see what they have available on their website or via Instagram, and you can message, email, call, or shop via FaceTime. They will deliver your order. They make it so convenient to buy even when you can't get to the shop. If you like to support local businesses, this is a fantastic one to put on your list!

I heard a dear friend opened her own store in Kensington so on a recent visit to DC I had to it see for myself. I was delighted! What a darling store filled with just the right gift for any occasion! I just moved to Charleston SC and thought I'd find such gift shops all around. Sadly, I have not! SW7 offers the best cards and unique gifts I've seen in a while! It was amazing how much I fit in my carry on to return home! Perfect little shop to visit and then grab lunch with a friend! I can't wait to visit again on my next trip back!

Don't let the location on Kensington's staid antique row fool you; SW7 is a breath of contemporary air. Every shelf, rack, nook, and cranny reveals some wonderful delight. From candles and cards to pottery and pillows, the store truly has something for everyone. Importantly, the shop also features work from local artists ensuring that visitors can find things at SW7 they simply can't get anywhere else. My understanding is that the name of the shop is a tribute, of sorts, to merry old England. For me, SW7 means So Wonderful (x7).
