We have been going to Quik Smog, both David and Siri, for almost 25+years since the shop was in San Carlos. We followed David and his crew to present site in San Mateo. What great smog work on our fleet of cars for the past years. We have been networking for Quik Smog with our friends and family. Wish you had locations up North. I've been going here for the past 5+ years for smog check on two vehicles. The guys there are professional, pleasant, honest, and they remember who you are year after year. Parking can be troublesome due to many businesses in the area, but pull up to the garage entrance and you'll be acknowledged. You'd be foolish to go anywhere else.

We were greatly disappointed by this place. We brought our car because of great reviews that we heard. BEWARE because this place tries to take advantage of people especially in midst of a pandemic. We towed our car here for a starter problem. We were quoted that it will take 3 HOURS. We consulted with a family member who is a Manager at a dealership and informed us that this is outrageous and that for a starter for the specific car will only take 0.8 hour (NOT EVEN AN HOUR!). We were quoted almost $900, again for a STARTER! We wasted $300 for tow because we brought it to this place. We

Quik is the word. I got there with two people ahead of me but 20 min later I was done.
Might not be the cheapest, but other than tight parking, they are the least hassle, which is worth paying for.

It's a very small shop, the manager has always been very nice. I usually have no more than 10 min wait to get seen, and then at the most a half hour for the inspection.
I like supporting small local businesses. This is the only place I get my car smogged.

Called and said there would be a 15min wait. I said okay and made my way over. When i showed up, he tells me the machine does not work cause my car is older. Pretty frustrating after driving all the way there to be honest.
Update: I realized the main reason this place did not want to do my smog test is because, for older models vehicles, the test needs to be done manually and it takes much longer.

David is great. He takes walk-ins. I called him up and asked about the wait and he said come on down. I was there in 15 minutes, he fit me in and had me out the door. He will now do all of my cars. Thank you

A bit of a hole-in-the-wall location but I highly recommend Quik Smog. STAR Certified and that is required for my 29 year old BMW that involves dynamometer testing. Quick, competent service.

Fast and best local prices i found. Drive up and service is about 10 or 15 minutes. They auto report your test also to the DMV. Takes Porsches too which not all smog places do

Great customer service! Friendly, clean, fast service. So glad I found this place.
Went to 101 express smog on Palm Ave and the staff was rude, claimed they couldn't find my car in the system and told me to get different paperwork.
Came to Quick Smog and they said my paperwork was fine. Found me in the system and had my car checked in no time. Highly recommend!

Found the best smog check service near home! They're not only detail oriented, but also very friendly and considerate.

Although just a quick smog check(15-20mins), they will explain the steps of what they will do to your car. That definitely makes me feel like they care about my car.

Discovered last night that my car needed a smog check. I looked at places close to work and found Quik Smog. I called a few places and didn't like the lack of customer service. The staff here are very friendly and courteous. Told me they were finishing up one car in 5 minutes and the process takes 15 minutes. I highly recommend them! $50 with coupon that included the DMV paperwork and retesting if needed.

These guys were quick, responsive, and hardworking. I called ahead of time to confirm availability, and twenty minutes later (including travel time) I was out the door with a smog check PASS form. And yes, they do automatically fax your pass results to the DMV.

Moving to a new place, my biggest challenges are finding a new hairdresser, figuring out how/where to workout and finding a reliable mechanic to take care of the car. I used Yelp and found Quik Smog when I was looking to register my car and needed a smog check. I used a coupon but I guess they aren't doing that anymore. There are different kinds of smog checks, one is more expensive than the other so one should know that before comparing.

Bottom line is, I passed the smog and found a great mechanic. I had a "check engine" light on that I'd taken to two different mechanics

3 out of 3 cars smogged. Easy peasy. No drama considering I have a 1981 Chevy full sized van and the smog check is the old school non computer check. Friendly and professional services from David and Hiro. David's wife comes in and helps on occasion. Now they do oil change services. A BIG plus! On the down side, waiting room is kinda small and has no AC and today is a record hi temp. Good thing I brought my own water. I didn't try the TV because I was busy writing this review. Highly recommended.
