I'm a lifestyle photographer based in San Francisco, California. I was raised out here in the Golden State! I'm just a simple girl who enjoys the little moments in life. I take joy in capturing the natural moments for my clients; those are my absolute favorite! Nothing makes my heart beat faster than capturing love: that kiss mommy steals from her lil one, the tickles from dad, or the snuggles that a newly engaged couple shares.

No posing is done, just gentle direction which allows for natural connection and interaction. Every home is unique so I will work with spaces that offer the best combination of light and space.

I cannot recommend Shefali enough. We've taken our holiday photos with her two years in a row and she's quickly become part of our holiday routine. In addition to helping with outfit recommendations with a styling app, you can tell she is a master at her craft and just KNOWS what is going to work. My husband hates having his photos taken and always feels so awkward no matter what, but even he admits that Shefali always gets the shot and beyond.

We chose to work with Shefali based on reviews here and feel compelled to add our less than positive experience so others can make informed decisions. Bottom line, we would not recommend or work with her again. The main issues were: inflexible scheduling (you book months out and are locked in with few exceptions), poor communication (slow, incomplete responses; often claims she didn't see texts or emails if it serves her), lack of attention to your preferences (we shared a few clear and straightforward things we wanted from our photos that she disregarded), and lack of respect for privacy

I can't say enough good things about Shefali! I scheduled a maternity announcement shoot with her. She was organized leading up to the photo shoot and worked with me on a detailed questionnaire to understand exactly what I was looking for and provided styling options and advice for the shoot. The day of the shoot my husband and I felt very comfortable with her and she is easy to work with and personable. We worked with Shefali for maternity and newborn photos and cannot say enough good things about our experience! From our initial inquiry she was responsive and professional. She offered multiple location options and provided styling suggestions for both photo sessions and helped narrow down options. Shefali was incredibly calm and patient during the newborn session, even when our dog wasn't cooperating or our baby was fussy. She was able to capture so many special moments that we will cherish forever. We will definitely be using her in the future for family photos and highly recommend her

Because of covid, I had to reschedule my original in-home appointment and she was flexible with her schedule to set me-up with another date and an outdoor sunset session instead. Obviously, in-home sessions are way different than the one outdoors so I'm a little disappointed that I wasn't able to get the same kind of clicks that she's done before for other clients (I had hoped that the situation with social distancing

My fiancé had pointed out Shefali's work to me multiple times over the last several months, so I got the hint and new I needed her to capture our proposal. She was extremely responsive throughout the entire process and instrumental in helping me find the best spot that checked off all the boxes.

We had 2 family sessions done by Shefali, 2 years apart, and I couldn't be more pleased with our experience. Shefali was extremely professional right from the beginning. All expectations and pricing details were well laid out, and she stayed in close coordination (including helping us pick outfits!) right up until the day of the shoot. I don't feel feminine and beautiful when I'm pregnant but wanted some photos as a family of 3 before #2 arrived. I really appreciated how Shefali helped me with wardrobe and photo concepts as we planned for my maternity shoot. Some people discover what they are really good at in life and rock it, and Shefali does just that! We had some newborn photos taken of our baby and plan to use her again before he is a year old. She really knows how to manipulate light and colors to make you look your best and capture babies in their best light. Highly recommend!

I can't believe how amazing our family photos turned out! It was freezing cold at the time of our shoot that my 6 month old was tearing up and had snot running down her face, and our dog was just trying to do his own thing in search of sticks, that I wasn't prepared for how put together we all look! Shefali managed to capture my daughter's every smile and I'm 100% thrilled with every single photo! Can't wait to work with Shefali again!

Our experience with said photographer was nothing short of excellent. She reached out to me via social media and we made a really good connection off the batt. She's very easy to work with on a professional manner, she knows what she's doing and will help you with any decisions you have even when it comes to wardrobe and styling.
We met in the late evening with 2 kids for our shoot, so it was already past their bedtime. She worked with our kids SO WELL, it made taking the photos very easy. She helped every time one would fuss just to make sure we were all "put together" still

I recently had the opportunity to work with Shefali, and man were we in great hands! Not only am I a newbie mom, but had no idea where to start with what "I wanted" for this shoot. Amazingly, Shefali helped us every step of the way, even down to our waredrobe. I have a 7month old and Shefali was very kind and patience with my baby which I was so happy with. I can go on and on but to say the photos came out great, is a complete understatement. All in all, Shefali is a true and talented photographer and we thank her so much for capturing the happiness our baby has brought into our lives
