Avonlee Photography is owned and operated by Michael and Mary Dunphy and is located just north of downtown Kensington in Montgomery County, Maryland. Since its foundation the studio has prided itself in giving clients a wonderful experience while capturing meaningful life memories. Michael is recognized as a Master of Photography by the Professional Photographers of America.
Avonlee Photography caters to a number of different photography fields. The main fields are listed below but please call us if you have something particular in mind that is not listed. A frequently updated headshot is one of the most important things you can do for your online image. Social media, websites and LinkedIn all require one.
We want to record all those moments for you and preserve them forever in our beautiful Baby Panel. Baby Nora's Panel as shown, contains her mom's favorite image from each of the 4 sessions we captured. Because of the number of sessions included with each plan, we onl;y accept 3 new babies each month.
Avonlee Photography's newborn Baby Plan has recorded the first year of life for many DC Metro area babies. Please allow us to do the same for your newborn. The first year of life is such a precious one with many memorable milestone moments occuring almost on a daily basis. Our newborn Baby Plan will allow you to relive those very special moments each time you look at your baby's 'Baby Panel' on the wall.

Michael took the most beautiful pictures of our son from birth to one year old. He was easy to work with, friendly, and he is a perfectionist so you can be confident you will have gorgeous photos to choose from at the end of your session. My husband and I loved so many and it was hard for us to narrow them down! Michael clearly spends a lot of time on the editing process too, which I really appreciated. My husband and I look at our album fondly and have our panel proudly displayed on our bookcase.

Michael is the great photographer here. He's informal and quickly establishes an easy rapport. He makes suggestions (not commands) throughout the shoot and the results are remarkable. I got an 8"x10" head shot and eight wallet size pictures. There were a number of choices and IMHO Michael chose the best one to finish. The price seemed reasonable. All around it was a good experience .
