Our beds are designed to lay on any hard, flat surface. We highly recommend the Bear Foundation paired with a bed frame. Other options include a platform bed, adjustable base, or the floor. We don't recommend using a traditional coil box spring, because it does not provide an evenly distributed surface area for foam-based mattresses.
The best way to make sure your mattress stays clean is use a mattress protector, which will act as a safeguard against everything from spills and liquid damage to dust mites and dead skin cells. I wouldn’t recommend this at all. I’ve had the bear original mattress for a few months and my back has been hurting and has felt sore ever since I started sleeping in it. I tried everything from swapping out my bed frame to simply placing it on the ground and I wake up feeling the same. If you do end up purchasing one make sure to check until what date you have to return it, I went over the 100 day return policy they originally had and I’m now I’m out the money I spent for it. Not worth it all.

I purchased my bear mattress online. It’s a horrible mattress. The cover broke within a few months and I had to pay for a replacement cover. $100! We ordered it on 2/9 it still hasn’t shipped out. I called customer service and they said they didn’t know what happened and that it could ship out Monday. Horrible service all around. Wish I would have spent my money on another mattress.

Please be mindful when you buy this mattress. I bought a full size bear mattress about a year and half ago and I kid you not, my back's been hurting until I switched to a firmer brand-less mattress couple weeks back. It's way too plushy, didn't really contour or wrap my body around and again, the back pain came naturally with this mattress. I say this was a causation but again it could just be a correlation but for those who want somewhat firmer memory foam mattress, stay away from this.

Full disclosure... I’ve had this mattress for eight months. At first I thought it was OK as my previous mattress was very old, however over the last few months the mattress has become extremely uncomfortable and there is absolutely zero edge support. I mean you can not sit on the edges of this bed. The website is completely misleading and customer service only offered me options of buying more products. Please do not invest money in this mattress there are many many other options and better products. I am very disappointed and will like throw this product out and buy a new mattress

DO NOT BUY** I bought this mattress about a year and a half ago and I already need a new mattress. There's a reason they only offer a 30 day warranty... The mattress does not keep its form... it sinks in the middle and has become extremely uncomfortable. I do not recommend this mattress to anyone unless you want to waste your money.

I slept on the bear hybrid for one night and my back hurt pretty bad. It's not supportive in the middle and to hard at the ends. The bear customer service advised me to sleep on the mattress for 30 days before initiating a return. I made it 4 nights, I now have terrible back, neck and shoulder pain. There is one spring in particular I can feel in my rib cage. I strongly disagree waiting through this one more night is going to eventually solve the issue. You couldn't pay me to sleep on this mattress one more night. I tried to request the return. I was made aware again of the 30 day wait in the policy

I REALLY wanted to like this mattress. We purchased the hybrid, and being an athlete the marketing lured me in. It took a long time to receive the mattress (apparently there was an error in the fulfillment facility). After trying the mattress, I tried to return it as it was making my existing back pain worse. When I called, I was told I'd missed the return window, but that I could get a topper for 50$.
