Best Mechanic shop i have been to!!! Mario was beyond helpful. I was having some problems with my vehicle and Mario was able to diagnose a problem and fix it at no charge after I had gone prior to another shop and they were trying to charge me more than $200. I was happy I am very grateful to Mario's garage for being honest and helpful and not being like other mechanic shops just trying to make a quick buck! Five stars for Mario's garage!

If you’re looking for a mechanic that will not rip you off and will always deliver quality work with speed and efficiency then “Mario’s Garage” is the place for you, I just took my car in for inspection and repair and Marco was extremely helpful with answering all my questions and getting me in and out super quickly. Mario's Garage is the best-I had a last minute need for an oil change and they quickly fit me in to their schedule-quick and effective service. They noticed the cabin air filter was quite dirty and gave me a good deal on a replacement. (Appreciate that especially with my allergies). I was in a big hurry and managed to leave my laptop on their office counter and did not notice-got a phone call that night from manager Marco about it, so I picked it up next day. Again, in my opinion Mario's is the best garage in the area!

Wonderful service from the minute I crossed the threshold of the door. Marco is very warm and inviting. Explained all the problems with my vehicle and let me know which ones I could focus on if I couldn't afford the whole service right then and there. Again, a great experience and will definitely recommend and revisit when I require maintenance.

PSA: DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU WANT TO GET SCAMMED. I decided to make this review three years later because I want to warn those who are thinking about coming here. In 2017, I took my car to Mario's garage because my check engine light was on. Mario knew I was a young & naive girl who didn't know any better so he took advantage of me and charged me $100 JUST TO "INSPECT" THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. Excuse me?!? And then he quoted me over $800 for a new catalytic converter... I literally gave this crook free money. On my receipt it says "labor total: $99" what labor?

I've been coming to Mario's Garage for a few years now...
Finding a repair shop that one can trust is similar to finding lost treasure these days. This IS one of those GEMS!
Not once did Carlos (the owner) steered me in the wrong direction.
Not once did they proposed unnecessary repairs.
Not once did they do any work without my consent.
HOWEVER...
They did repair my vehicles according to what was discussed.
They did explain (in detail) what the repairs would be and their cost.
They did treat my vehicles as if it were their own.
They did go above and beyond a regular shop would.
So

I took my 2007 Saturn Vue Hybrid to Mario's since I was experiencing fuel smell from the top of my fuel tank. I pointed this out to him at the beginning. I got a labor quote for $275 to remove and replace the fuel tank and diagnose the problem. That was better than Sharps so I decided to give Mario's a try. Before the work started, Carlos inspected the car and stated that I had no oil in my engine and that I also had a coolant leak from a "heat exchanger" that is a part of my hybrid subsystem. I knew I had a coolant leak but I did not know what this "heat exchanger"

Let me save you some money, DO NOT GO this rusty place or even consider it. Carlos makes his customers (the ones who pay for his rent) feel uneducated. This place is a fucken joke and he viciously takes his customers money. His price ranges are unheard for an Oxnard shop. $120 dollars for a check up on your car.. whaaat? I'm I going to a car wash and detailing with that? Biggest scammer in town that's for sure

Where do I start! It's extremely difficult to find a good, reliable mechanic. Mario's garage exceeds all! Great customer service, prompt service and reasonable prices. Carlos is the owner/operator. I recommend Mario's garage to all my coworkers and friends for any work they need done! Everything about this place is great!

First time here since I was referred by one of my best friends and I'm definitely coming back! The owner, Carlos is professional, friendly & honest! My mother took in her truck due to a sensor code light turning on. She paid $400.00 not including parts. 6 days later the same sensor code went on. She returned to ask for help in fixing it. She was treated rudely and the owner demanded $100 to take a look at it...She's a 70 year old, Spanish speaking lady. Who does this?

Didn't go. I've been there before, and also got overcharged. They always try to do it to women, I guess they think women are stupid. I may look old and innocent, but I was a mechanic myself my whole life...so here is a lesson to Mario's...get your "stuff" straight, or your rating will continue to decline if you keep ripping people off. GET HONEST! You NEVER know the background of the person you are serving, and you can't tell by their appearance, by looking at them. (and you will probably always mis-judge American women/veterans if you try) !!

Carlos is knowledgeable and accommodating. The shop is clean and they probably do a good job. On my first visit I felt that I was charged a bit more than is normal for an oil change.
On my second visit I was charged even more. Examining the bill, I noticed that I was charged $37 for a cabin air filter (retail price $7-12) plus $28 labor (it's 3 latches from glove compartment, no tools required, takes 15 seconds). I understand that shops need to mark up price on parts, but things like that make me feel like being taken advantage of. So my second visit became my last.
