For more than 20 years Chicagoland residents have trusted our family-owned and operated upholstery business with projects such as furniture reupholstering, antique restoration, wood refinishing, custom built furniture and a lot more. At our studio we are precise and take pains to ensure that your upholstery work is done correctly and on time.
We found Nelson Upholstery online and set up an appointment to discuss our project. From the very start we liked Nelson. He was patient, not pushy at all. He gave us whatever time we needed to pick our fabrics from his very large selection of samples. He encouraged us to take the samples home to see what we liked based on our lighting and colors in our home.

We have used Nelson for over 5 yrs.we have had custom window valance/treatments, along with a custom pad for our bay window . Nelson creates excellent custom upholstery work and exactly what your request is. We recently had our new couch pillow covers repaired by them and we won't go elsewhere. Nelson Upholstery did an AMAZING job restoring my grandparents' old living room chairs. He took a beautiful solid wood frame, removed the 1960s orange striped fabric, and turned them into updated, classic pieces of furniture that will continue to stand the test of time. I would highly recommend Nelson Upholstery!

I brought a dear family heirloom to Nelson Upholstery Studio recently. The chair has been in my family for 5 generations, and although well loved, it was tattered, worn, and broke down.
The communication throughout the upholstery process was great, and I received pictures of the work as it was being completed.
The finished chair is just stunning! and ready for another 5 generations.

I have a recliner that is over 20 years old. It is a mission style with wood on the arms.
Ten years ago, I had Nelson replace the foam in the seat cushion. It was now time to replace the Upholstery and have the entire chair refinished and totally refreshed.
Nelson gave me his price, and while I initially debated going ahead with the project, I checked on the price of a new chair. I went back and talked more to Nelson, and he explained how the chair would be totally taken apart and all of the wood redone, with new webbing in the back of the chair and new cushions on the seat and back; along with

Nelson, who owns Nelson’s Upholstery does excellent work...I have had a couple of items reupholstered their and the craftsmanship is like you just bought a new piece of furniture from the store and in most cases probably better. He is quick to respond, reasonably priced. Be sure to give yourself some time for you project as he is busy. Thank you Nelson for the great chairs you reupholstered for me I love them.

I had purchased a used dining set, and the eight chairs needed to be reupholstered and cleaned up a bit. I chose my fabric at Nelson’s shop, and he came to my house to pick up and drop off the chairs. I’m beyond pleased with the results of Nelson’s work. He rebuilt all the chair pads with new foam and support mesh in addition to reupholstering them, so not only are they beautiful, but they are also much more comfortable than they were before. I am thrilled to have found Nelson Upholstery Studio in Cary. He and his staff were very responsive and do excellent work at very competitive prices. I had a vintage MCM table and chairs that desperately needed seat cushions. While my project was probably small to him - I never felt like it. Thanks again, Nelson - we love our chairs!
