Dr. Chad Malpass grew up just a few miles down the road from Westchester Veterinary Hospital. He started working here as a veterinary technician in 2009 while pursuing degrees in Biology and Chemistry from our very own High Point University.
Thereafter, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine, where he was awarded the Robert D. Horne Orthopedic Surgery Award and is the recipient of the National Bayer Excellence in Communication Award. He has special interests in osteoarthritis and ACL (more correctly called CCL) injury and repair.

At Westchester Veterinary Hospital we have a highly trained group of caring vets that will treat your dogs and cats with all of the compassion and care that they receive at home. Our doctors, technicians and assistants are some of the best that you'll find, and we take pride in our knowledge and abilities.
Our goal is to help pets share more years with their families by providing customized pet wellness care plans that cover every life stage. We all need a little help to stay healthy, and pets are no exception. From giving your puppy their vaccinations to keeping your senior pet comfortable, our team is here to support you and your four-legged family member with complete, long-term care.
Pets with proper dental hygiene live longer, healthier lives than those who don't receive dental care and develop periodontal disease. Pets, just like humans, develop plaque daily. We brush the plaque off our teeth, but in our pets, that plaque accumulates to become a calcified wall of bacteria on their teeth.
We are passionate about surgery. We perform everything from spays and neuters to mass removals and orthopedic procedures. Your pet will receive at least one pre-anesthetic exam, blood work, and the very best and safest anesthetic drugs. Each patient is thoroughly monitored during their procedure. Our surgical monitors provide us with an EKG, blood pressure, Sp02, respiratory patterns, and body temperature.

We changed to this vet based on the reviews, and we were not disappointed. We didn't quite make it back from Raleigh to make our appointment, about fifteen minutes late, but they worked us back in anyways. I found them to be friendly, professional, the environment was pleasant, but small. They stated they were moving to a bigger location soon. They accomodated us where our GSD Tara is a little nervous of crowds and strange dogs and people. The vet was very informative and gave Tara great care. We had medications for her and a skin cleansing regime, and the price was 2/3 cheaper than the previous

My yellow lab, Miles ToGo, has had both his ACL's done by Dr. Hernandez at Westchester Vet Hospital. Dr. Hernandez from day 1 has been such a blessing to us as I worried so much about my active yellow lab. The whole staff there know the dogs and genuinely care about you and your pup. I drive 40 minutes one way and do not mind the drive one bit because I know Miles Togo will receive exceptional service. He loves greeting all of the staff there and goes to the back without looking back in my direction. That is the way a vet hospital should be. Thank you, Westchester Vet for being simply the best

I can not say enough about this hospital, they have been the only ones to figure out what was going on with my one dogs skin and get it under control...then my new rescue they didn't give up and looked at her everyday and ended up saving her life...its a rare thing to find a vet that cares about animals and not just about the money. They care and are extremely reasonable with their prices. Couldn't recommend more!!

Grace had her first puppy visit with Dr. Hernandez last month. It was our first visit with this vet. We love him! The entire staff was amazing. We felt right at home. They came very highly recommended from friends. Looking forward to a very long relationship with Westchester!

I want to say, it was not a good day today. I lost my sweet little bean, that I was going to fully adopt after finding him on the street yesterday. But what made it a little more bearable was the staff here at Westchester.
They were not only extremely patient and considerate with me, they took ‘Gemini,’ my cat, in on such a short notice saying, “bring him by and we will fit him in.” Although he didn’t pull through, his last moments were filled with compassion and kindness.
This is all I could ask in a vet; a group of individuals who come together as a team and try their hardest to ensure
