The history of Adams Farm Animal Hospital, P.A. (AFAH) is inextricably linked with the founder and current owner, Dr. Janet Raczkowski. Growing up in Puerto Rico, Dr. Janet knew she wanted to be a veterinarian at a young age. From 1984 until 1988 she was a dermatology intern at NCSU-CVM as well as a full time associate at Six Forks Animal Hospital in Raleigh.
She opened the practice as the only veterinarian with a handful of dedicated staff. Within a year, the practice became AAHA accredited, and word continued to spread about the quality of service and the personal, compassionate medical care provided by Dr. Janet. Within a few short years, AFAH blossomed under Dr. Janet's dedicated leadership and continuous ethical, advanced and comprehensive veterinary care.

As a member of the family, your cat deserves the very best possible care. One of the best ways to ensure your cat stays healthy is by making sure they have a preventive care examination or check-up yearly, or more frequently for senior cats and those with chronic conditions.
During the exam, your veterinarian will assess your cat's nutrition, lifestyle, environmental enrichment (key resources such as food, water, litter box, scratching areas, play areas, resting areas, etc.), disease and parasite prevention, and behavior. This is also the perfect time to ask any questions and share any changes you have noticed in your cat's behavior.

Radiology is a valuable diagnostic tool in veterinary medicine. As we continually strive to offer the highest quality medicine and diagnostic testing, we are pleased to offer radiology services as a means of providing excellent care to our patients. A radiograph (sometimes called an x-ray) is a type of photograph that can look inside the body and reveal information that may not be discernable from the outside.
