Today I decided to pop in for an Iced Chai Latte. Upon entering the shop I found that the ambiance has completely died at this place. Why? Well, when you decide to treat people as if they are possibly contagious with the Black Plague, it doesn’t exactly leave a warm and fuzzy feeling.
Basically, if it was just a tea I was after, I could have gone… home and made myself a tea for a fraction of the price. If I wanted convenience, I could have gone through the Starbucks Drive-Thru and not even had to leave my vehicle. What I wanted today was to support a local business and see a friendly

Terrible customer service. treated me harshly for not wearing a mask even though i was only standing in the doorway, and there was no other customers. very rude and will never go there again. also im medically intolerant, and still was treated like that. no reason to treat people like that just because you disagree. if you believe in your rights and know you shouldnt be forced avoid this company.

Yay. Yay. Yay! I'm SO glad to have had my attention drawn to this place and thus trying while in the area (insert: happy dance). While I've noted CJ in the past, as a "foreigner", I wasn't sure how to go about ordering and quite frankly, avoided. Nobody wants to make a d*psh*t of themselves in front of so many passerby. But, with a friend to laugh with if I screwed up, I went for it. Um, okay, so that wasn't hard: drive up to the window and order, or get out and go in (cringes with embarrassment).
Hopefully, if you've found yourself at all intimated to approach

Cuppa Joe Cafe was probably my favorite quick bite coffee place at Grand Traverse Commons. It is a quaint little coffee shop. I sat at the counter. The two folks working there on, Monday August 5th, we're very friendly, entertaining and had such a fun banter. It was exactly what I needed to start my morning. Good ol uplifting positive vibes, spreading cheer first thing in the morning. I had a couple cups of regular black coffee and their garden toast it was light, fresh and really tasty!

The coffee is flavorless - basically, hot water with a brown crayon in it. Which is too bad: relaxed, retro atmosphere; friendly staff; tasty baked goods. But the coffee is brewed bland, probably to appeal to the widest-possible audience. If you enjoy coffee, either ask for a shot in the dark (a shot of expresso in the coffee) or go some place else.

Stopped in for quick breakfast with the kids. They weren't too busy, so service was quick and efficient. Hot food was good, coffee and scones were delicious. My son raved about the cherry smoothie. The location of the cafe was amazing; an old asylum! Happy about the effort to use locally produced goods also.

Proportions of food are small for what you are paying, service was terrible, waited 25 minutes for my salad, turns out they put it in a to-go container, put it on the counter and forgot it. Meanwhile the other three of my dining companions had received their food, and two staff had visited our table trying to figure out where my order had been placed. Both baristas disregarded that there was a problem, and ignored me, and refused to make eye contact. Childish.
Unfortunately this is not my first poor experience here. Will not be returning.

I don't make it over to this side of the town often but I stopped in for a coffee and a late breakfast. I was served by an extremely nice and enjoyable barista named Jamie. The coffee drink she made was one of the best I've had in a long while. The breakfast burrito was pretty good as well. It's a little ways from my normal stomping ground in a trendy up and coming development but I would definitely come back more often for the great service!
