Built in the 1880's as the Eastport Congregational Church, Torch Lake Cafe has been a vibrant part of the Eastport community for nearly 140 years. Having grown up on the banks of Torch Lake, Leanna Collins was a short-order cook, and her mother, Betty, a bartender in the building in the 1970's.
When Collins and Jim Hettinger relocated to Torch Lake from Key West, Florida, they imagined the building as she once knew it; a warm, inviting place to gather with friends and family.

Music has been a part of Ivan's life for as long as he can remember. His childhood centered around music, learning to play the drums at age 5 and finding his lifelong passion for the guitar at age 10. As a teenager, Ivan began playing for live shows and that was when he knew he wanted to spend his life playing music.

The restaurant is warm, decorated beautifully. And you can feel a vibe that you are about to have a good experience. The staff is exceptional. Attentive, and very friendly. And while all of this is good the main treat is the food. All prepared in house and absolutely delicious. The price was modest for the quality and I had a wonderful dining experience.

This place was a delight on a recent trip to the area. I was staying just down the road, and this spot looked good - so I ordered some dinner online and drove over to pick it up. It was so good that I went back for dinner again the next night. First day... I got the club sandwich - incredible. Turkey and crispy pork belly... some honey in the ham, avocado. This sandwich was perfect. I opted for some truffle fries, and they were so so good with shaved parm cheese in it. Second night I got the Rachel... turkey, cole slaw, swiss, thousand island, rye. Food not bad. The server was polite and personable. We arrived at 10:00 and there wasn't a soul in the restaurant. We had our order taken at 10:18 and received the wrong order at 10:52. The staff was hanging out in the kitchen joking around. I never leave bad reviews but man this was a joke. I wouldn't steer people away from this place necessarily, but I mean what is up with that? The eggs were way overdone- and there was a single grape in my sandwich... Not sure what to make of that lol.

Well we decided for my 50th birthday we have nice breakfast !!!! Boy were we mistaken. Sat outside waited 20 minutes to even get waited on !!! We ordered our drinks and food right away!!! We both order eggs Benedict!! No taste what so ever !! $4.00 dollars for regular black coffee what a joke !!! When food was delivered we asked for pepper the hostess snapped at up and told us to wait ..... it shows up and salt was so caked with crap wouldn't even come out !!!! Disgusting service food and prices!!!! Never will i come back !!!!

When I order a mixed drink, I expect their to be alcohol in it. I paid $26 for 2 Margaritas with almost zero alcohol. Watering bottles down, or pre-made weak, poor quality mixtures is something us consumers know exactly what's up. I'm not accusing, again just saying there was almost zero alcohol in my Margarita. Note to bartender to work on salting a rim better. First time here and it was a fun atmosphere with live music, and my service was good. I won't come back and order alcohol tho, maybe a beer, or I'll bring my flask. Food was alright, kids pretzels were awful with cold

The owner and I communicated and we gave TLC another try and wow what an awesome time. I'll never forget this experience. A+! 5 star. See, sometimes people or restaurants for example just need a second chance. Yes, first impressions are important and last forever, but we all have off days. Yesterday nothing was off. Humbled. Make sure you look around before you come in. If people look like theyve been sitting (which seems typical of this place) then leave. Service was absolutely putrid. The staff was nice but we waited 20 minutes to place a drink order (coffee and chocolate milk). Coffee came out 20 minutes later, chocolate milk 20 minutes later. Food 40 minutes later, bill 20 minutes after we asked twice. Wife's eggs Benedict was hard boiled, my food was cold... dry toast. FAR OVERPRICED, service was among the worst I've experienced. Even when we took a moment to bring the poor food and service quality

We always have good food and service here. Good range of items from burgers and sandwiches to fancier cuts of meat and fish. Also, it's lively and fun, and the dining room inside is beautifully done. Service is not always speedy, but what's the rush? The servers are helpful and informed, and not affected at all. We come here all the time and consider ourselves lucky it's down the road.
