Richard L. (Ricky) Ray began to practice law after he graduated from SMU Law School in 1974. He passed the bar then and moved back home to Canton, where he grew up. He graduated from Texas A & M in 1968. He served two tours in Vietnam as a First Lieutenant and received the Combat Infantry Badge, several bronze stars with valor, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, and others.
Tory Ray Thatcher, Mr. Ray's daughter, complements Mr. Ray's practice. Her practice emphasizes Social Security disability, but she also writes some of the legal papers and most of the appellate briefs. During the last nine years of her practice, she has been in charge of the Dallas office, which is devoted to Social Security disability claimant's representation.

If it were possibly to give zero stars, I would. I contacted these people in regards to a disability claim. The woman I spoke to said she would go ahead and send me their "packet" for me to fill out and return. I have still never received it. They said, file the claim and call us back. I did. I received no response. I was contacted by the SSI/DISABILITY administration in regards to my claim. I called again to see how I should proceed, no return call. I called several more times and have had no response to date. The last time I called, I asked to speak to one of the attorneys and again, no response
