At Forest Lake, you're not just going to summer camp- you're joining our family. You'll spend the summer surrounded by people who will encourage you to be yourself, to discover the things you love to do, and to make the most of our beautiful surroundings in the Adirondacks. Live in cabins, get away from cell phones and TVs, make new best friends, and have the chance to enjoy being a kid in a safe and beautiful setting.
Forest Lake is a sleep-away camp located in the Southern Adirondack Mountains of New York, just 3.5 hours from NYC. We are a "Brother-Sister camp" with separate camps for Boys and Girls which gives our campers the chance to thrive in our unique setting. Thank you for taking the time to explore and imagine what an FLC summer would look like for your family. At FLC, we know that a positive camp experience is one of the defining moments of a young person's life. Confidence and independence are developed, health and physical vitality exercised, and enduring, life-long memories and friendships are created.
Caroline's family has been part of FLC since the 1950's with her father and uncle attending camp followed by Caroline, her sister, and cousins beginning in 1995. In 2014, Caroline left the US to pursue a master's degree. After moving around the world, Caroline is returning for her 20th year at Forest Lake and third as Director.
A positive camp experience is one of the defining moments of a boy's life. Confidence is nurtured, independence is achieved, health is exercised, and enduring, life-long memories and friendships are created. Forest Lake Camp is designed to expose boys to a wide variety of activities while allowing them to grow skills in their areas of interest.
Everyday at FLC offers new fun, new adventures, new experiences, and new opportunities for personal growth. And while there is no such thing as a typical day at FLC, most days follow a similar schedule. Each cabin assembles together in front of the Hill Office to walk down to the mess hall together.
At FLC we are very proud of our unique way to recognize our campers' achievements. As part of the Forest Lake Camp program and in staying true to our values and principles, we acknowledge our camper achievement through our Recognition Sticks.
By completing a session at Forest Lake Camp, a camper will receive a Recognition Stick with their name, Color War team color, the year they began attending and a 'notch' for completing their first summer, all engraved in the stick.Beyond these standard engraved items, each Recognition Stick is individualized with additional notches for each year attended and burned images to reflect the camper's individual accomplishments over their years at FLC.

I went for 7 years, worked as a CIT for 1, and a Junior Counselor for 1 more. FLC is the finest example of what a sleep away summercamp can be.
I credit a great deal of my personal development and ethics to what I learned at FLC. I made lifelong international friendships, cleaned every day with my fellow campers, cleared plates & served food to one other, ran, played, climbed, laughed, cried, conspired and thrived.
They are the happiest memories of my childhood. Send your child here, when they return, you will see and you will not regret it.

Our son attended Forest Lake Camp this summer for a 2-week session. He had never been to sleep-away camp before and loved it! FLC's setting was amazing - perched on a hilltop with gorgeous views. The brand new dining hall is reminiscent of Hogwart's. The cabins are rustic, but large with attached showers/bathrooms - just what you would imagine Adirondack camp to be. The new Camp Director, Caroline, is awesome...attentive, great with the kids and responsive. There were so many activities and trips, 2 weeks wasn't long enough. A magical start to summer.

My dad went to Forest Lake Camp. I went there for 6 years and now Both my daughters are currently campers. Rich in tradition my children have learned independence, how to try new things and a deep appreciation for friends and the outdoors. Facilities are top notch and staff are terrific and many have been there for decades.
