My writer's group booked all five rooms for a Saturday night retreat. I stayed in The Elizabeth Room. The facility is gorgeous all around - very British Country House Weekend - I fully expected there to be a murder in the library.
Amenities - the mattress and bedding was at a luxury hotel level. Fantastic mattress, crisp sheets, comfy pillows. It was amazing. HEATED bathroom floors. Unlimited water, tea, coffee, snacks - there were scones out all day in the breakfast room - plus hot cider - and cookies in the drawing room in the evening. Breakfast was grilled caramelized grapefruit with Greek

A year later and I'm here to tell you that it's still just as amazing! This truly feels like visiting dear friends. Sharon and Chris have thought of everything and the service and attention to detail cannot be matched.

Sharon and her husband are such heartwarming folks and they have wonderful hospitality!! It reminded me of southern hospitality, which I miss dearly. I did not have the privilege of staying at the B&B but all of our wedding guests booked there for the night and I heard nothing but wonderful things. We also had the bridal party makeup and hair there and Sharon was so kind to offer us snacks and beverages!! I definitely hope my husband and I can spend the night in the future!!

We had the pleasure of staying at Georges on York and highly recommend it. Chris and Sharon were fantastic hosts. Very personable and dedicated to making sure their guests are taken care of. I even left an item behind in our room, and they were kind enough to mail it to our home. Hopefully we'll get a chance to stay with them again in the future.

A warm and welcoming B&B with exceptional service from Chris and Sharon! I would highly recommend for anyone coming to the area for a visit. The B&B was immaculately restored, easy to find & with off-street parking, and the hosts were knowledgeable about the surrounding area. The bedrooms were spotless and charming with all of the amenities of a modern hotel plus some nice additional touches that made you want to stay even longer.

What a beautiful B&B. Chris and Sharon have created the ultimate warm inviting home away from home.
Our family stayed at George's this past weekend. Honestly I can't imagine being in a more comfortable space. The room was large, sparkling clean and comfortable.
The sitting rooms downstairs were so comfortable and inviting.
Chris and Sharon are so personable. They work so well together. They are available if you need them but let you do your own thing.
Breakfast is substantial. Yummy apple muffins and
Gluten Free Blueberry pastries (which our son very much appreciated), along

My husband & I stayed at George's on York and loved it! It's beautiful, very clean, & affordable. The best part, however, is meeting Sharon & Chris. They are so accommodating and very knowledgeable about this old building & its surrounding area. Breakfast was amazing with most of the delicious items being homegrown & homemade. We highly recommend George's for your Bed & Breakfast experience.

The renovated home built originally built in the 1800's is just gorgeous & the owners obviously put great effort in crafting a tasteful modern take on older architecture & decor. The whole house & back garden are just lovely! Our "meh" review if based on the rigidity of the owners scheduling & breakfast offerings. While they were generally friendly, we found the lack of ANY scheduling flexibility that suited the guests to be inappropriate. They had a very narrow check-in time & offered breakfast at one & only one time. As the breakfast is one of the biggest

My wife and I were celebrating our 39th Anniversary and wanted to get away for the weekend. We couldn't have been happier with our choice of Georges on the York !!!
Sharon and Chris are the perfect people to own and run a Bed and Breakfast. From the time you arrive until you leave they treat you like family. They are very knowledgeable about the area, what to see and where to eat. They did a fantastic job in renovating the building and the patio and firepit area are just beautiful. Each Breakfast was some of the best food we've ever had. We will definitely be returning for another visit.

Absolutely a 5-star experience! I just wish we could have stayed longer. The grounds are incredible with cozy sitting areas, fresh herbs all around, and perfect landscaping. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast on the outside patio with the owners who told us about the history of the buildings, their renovation project, and the surrounding area of Taneytown. The room had that ideal historic feeling but with all the modern amenities. We will most definitely be back for another stay! Highly recommend.

Georges on York is an excellent B&B, well decorated, immensely comfortable, serving delicious breakfast to guests. Hosts are accommodating and helpful in every way. The B&B is exactly as pictured online. Given the high quality of the accommodations and food, the value of price to quality is also excellent. Highly recommended!

We certainly enjoyed this trip and the owners, Chris and Sharon were always so fun and interesting to talk with! Lovely Inn with a beaufiful yard and incredibly furnished room, even with a huge closet, very nice bath and shower stall and well furnished bedroom as well. Breakfasts were very tasty. Only problem was location on a noisy street but with ear plugs the second two nights, we were fine. Highly recommend.

We hosted our wedding reception here and spent the night afterwards. This place is top notch!

The venue itself is perfect for a small wedding with a few seating areas, and gorgeous dining area, and a delightful backyard with space for dancing, speeches, and a firepit to gather around for conversation later. It was a perfect space for all our guests to mingle, but also not feel like they had to be standing (or dancing) the whole time. They provided top-notch service with delicious hors d'oeuvres and a very tasty hot cider that I highly recommend if you're having a winter wedding.

Chris and Sharon are wonderful hosts and they are very knowledge about the town and Gettysburg!!!! This truly is a Bed & Breakfast that delivers a home away from home feeling. Rooms are designed in period themes, but not over the top. Each room has its own custom bathroom and in room A/C. The beds are nice and big and very comfy. Although there is no refrigerator in the rooms. There is one available in the common area on the 1st floor.

If you're looking to relax. Hang out on the gorgeously manicured backyard patio. Oh, and breakfast is AMAZING. Thoughtful and creative menu that will

We had a wonderful stay at Georges on York and will definitely be back. The entire inn is furnished beautifully and comfortably and everything in the rooms feels new and clean. Our guest room was bright and cool, with a clean bathroom and large shower. We slept very comfortably and the bedding was soft with plenty of pillows. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and Chris and Sharon were able to accommodate my vegan diet and exceed my expectations! The food was amazing! My husband is not vegan and enjoyed smoked bacon with his breakfast. We both ate every bite of our meals. It is obvious that

We have visited a LOT of BB's and I would say George's on York is by FAR the best we have stayed out. What a beautiful, hospitable and lovely experience. Sharon and Chris are the best. I LOVE what they have done with this beautiful residence. The time and attention into renovating the rooms is exemplary! Fun, beautiful, and historic themes in each room. I LOVE the bathrooms. They put brand new bathrooms in each room when they renovated and they are super modern, clean and fun. Their towels are so soft! We stayed in the Miss Elizabeth room. Pink, black and Art Deco furnishings oh my!!

Let me start my saying this was my first Bed and Breakfast ever, and they set the bar SO high! First things first, the owners are so accommodating. Our original check in was for 6:30, but we ended up checking in earlier. The room we stayed in was SO cozy and the aesthetics are beautiful. Breakfast was home cooked meals, all locally sourced and veggies and fruits from their garden. Overall wonderful and such hospitality, I would do it all over again!

This place is great. We needed a place to stay in the area and didn't want a hotel. Wonderfully restored 1870s home with multiple uniquely decorated suites. Very clean place. All have new bathrooms and very comfortable beds. You won't find beds like these in a hotel. The place has many little sitting areas and places to relax. You can read a book or watch tv...or you can put your phone away, have a drink and converse. The proprietors are friendly and knowledgeable about the area and it's rich history. If you like historic buildings they restored this place and did a really nice

We stayed here for our Anniversary weekend, and It was truly the nicest B&B I have stayed at. Sharon and Chris were warm, kind, accommodating and excellent hosts. It was nice to have the modern touches of wifi in such a beautiful historic setting. The breakfast we were served was absolutely delicious. I wished we had an additional day off to unwind. The B&B is about 15 minutes to Gettysburg and same to the Catoctin mountains and Emmitsburg for those going to Mt. St. Marys. Also 15 min from Westminster. Very lovely stay.

Why not pamper yourself a little? For $20-40 extra dollars a night a little bit of a drive, you will be treated to one of the best B&B's I have been too. The house has all the comforts you want. Great bed and pillows, amazing shower, A/C, Wifi, TV, etc...the downstairs area is elegant by not ostentatious, with high ceilings and comfortable areas to sit and relax and meet new people.

The hosts, Chris and Sharon, are wonderful people who are laid back and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and conversation was fostered and rewarded. The building and area has a real feel of being

We came to Taneytown to visit friends and it was recommended that we visit Georges on York. Right from the very start Chris and Sharon were very attentive, with emails and phone calls to make sure of our rooms, check in time, and breakfast requests, which was very much appreciated. We brought my girlfriends 16 year old son with us and he was quite comfortable in the Parson's room - a very cool place for a young person stay, he was made very welcome and he had a great time as well.

When we arrived they gave us a tour and explained the nature of all the rooms and how it related to the local
