Diabetes makes your blood sugar level higher than normal. High blood sugar levels can damage nerves in your body. When diabetes damages the nerves to the hands, fingers, feet, and toes, it is referred to as diabetic neuropathy. Diabetic Neuropathy makes your nerves less effective, so they cannot carry messages to the brain and other parts of your body.
It is very important to take care of your feet as they are under high amounts of stress and tension when performing athletic or exercise activities. Common findings that occur to the feet and toes when performing such activities include sweating, odor, cracking skin, and blisters. These conditions often become recurring in nature, and they can be annoying without treatment.

Dr. Bernie is fantastic. My 4-year old has been struggling with an ingrown toenail for the past month, and with Bernie's great bedside manner (and his receptionist, who helped calm my son down!), we were able to get it taken care of quickly. We had a bad experience with a previous podiatrist, and this was the exact opposite. Can't recommend highly enough.
