Services
The son of George and Margaret Carter Phillips, W.W. Phillips founded the funeral home in 1907. The first funeral home was located in Waterloo, Ohio near the family home and their former sawmill business. During that first year, he and his staff conducted 17 funerals. Art Phillips, W.W. Phillips' nephew, joined the family business in 1934.
Ironton, Ohio - Robert "Shawn" Reid has joined Phillips Funeral Home and is currently serving his Funeral Director Apprenticeship. Shawn has been a resident of Lawrence County since 1998. He was born and raised in Smithers, West Virginia, which is located on the banks of the Kanawha River. He went to WVU-Tech where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1990.

The care and compassion is evident in everything they do for their clients. Every detail is taken care of and handled with great professionalism and sincerity. I wouldn’t think of using any other facility other than Phillips Funeral Home and want to thank all the employees that were involved in my husband’s final care. The Phillips family are special people to my family. Thanks for everything you did for us.
