The Dynamic Music and Movement Studio offers Foundations of Music classes, featuring the Orff Schulwerk approach, for children ages 3 and up. In these fun group classes, children learn musical concepts by listening and moving to music, chanting poems, singing, performing body percussion and playing instruments.

In each lesson, tailored to individual needs, the students of The Dynamic Music and Movement Studio are taught to become experts at reading music and to bring the page of music alive. In an effort to promote confidence in performing, we host recitals in the Oceanside studio 3 to 4 times per year. Our ultimate goal is to teach our students to become independent musicians so they can enjoy their musical skills for a lifetime.
Services
First and foremost, music should bring joy. Teaching music certainly brings us joy, and we share that joy with our students every day. We work hard to make music fun for our students, and we love to see the smiles on their faces when they leave their lessons each week. Lenore created the Foundations of Music program to address the musical needs of young children, which are not served properly by traditional methods.
The Dynamic Music and Movement Studio offers Foundations of Music classes, featuring the Orff Schulwerk approach, for children ages 3 and up. Children who participate in quality group music programs improve cognitive skills, physical coordination, language skills and social development. Like learning any language, the best time to start is.as young as possible.
At the Dynamic Music and Movement Studio, all students attend a weekly private piano lesson. The length of the lesson varies from 30-60 minutes, depending on the students' needs. In order to make consistent progress, students need a suitable instrument for at-home practice. If you don't already have one, please call us before you purchase an instrument so we can guide you to the best options within your price range.
The benefits of learning music last a lifetime, and we are doing our part to ensure that students of all backgrounds can attend lessons at our studio. When Lenore started her Foundations of Music program in 2010, she set out to create an affordable and developmentally appropriate educational option for families with young children.
The following videos showcase the variety of musical activities that our Orff students participate in. They feature movement pieces (often choreographed by the students themselves), singing, speech, body percussion, percussion instruments, pitched instruments, and class collaborations. Miss Lenore and Miss Emma often perform in the student piano recitals, which are held 3-4 times yearly.

My son has been a piano and Orff student of Lenore Johnson for the past 6 years. The professionalism mixed with a casual atomosphere has been perfect for my son. My son plays by ear and Lenore has guided, stuck with him, and motivated him to learn to read music regardless. She has a love for music and an amazing example to her students at every recital. Lenore will perform at almost every recital herself. She helps each student reach their individual potential. I highly recommend Dynamic Music and Movement Studio!!

Music lessons aren't only for children. I was well into retirement when I decided to learn to play the piano. Selecting Lenore and the Dynamic Music and Movement Studio was a terrific idea. Lenore helps me advance at a rate that keeps things interesting but doesn't make me feel like we are rushing. I'm looking forward to continuing success on the piano.

I was a student of Lenore's for four years, all throughout high school. The entire time I was with her, I learn so much and knew that she cared deeply about what she did. I'm currently a Music Major at University and loving what I do. I have her to thank for helping me excel at what I love. I could not have made it to where I am without her. I highly recommend her for anyone looking for a serious piano teacher who knows what they are doing.

We have our two girls enrolled to this program with Miss Lenore since almost 4 years ago, taking Orff music and Piano Lessons. It is just amazing to see how easy they learn and growth; the music foundation that the program provide is very complete and the teachers are outstanding, they really master the music techniques and skills. We are so thankful and feel lucky for finding these talented teachers and this specific music program. Lenore is very professional and passionate about teaching young kids. Highly recommended.

I started taking lessons with Lenore in 2013, shortly after I graduated from college, hoping to become a piano teacher myself. Since then, she has become a fantastic mentor. She helped me build my student base, and continues to work with me every week, answering my questions and guiding me through any teaching difficulties I have. I owe my success as a teacher to her generosity and extensive teaching experience. She has a creative solution for every problem I've run into with students, and she has a wonderful way of working with her own students that I try to emulate in my lessons each week.
