There is alot for kids here, and they have a trolley that takes you to Old Orchard Beach throughout the day. Very close to other attractions in nearby towns, and about half hour from Portland. If you are tent camping or have a small rig, this is ideal. Not big rig friendly, as the premium sites are very close together, and there are only a few sites that don't abut two or three other trailers. My trailer was surrounded by four other trailers, just too claustrophobic to be enjoyable. The layout is great if you are camping in groups, and all parties want to be clustered together. Most of the sites

We've been coming here for many years and love it, but very surprised to see that this campground (unlike others) after 2 years still have their camp store closed "due to COVID". With the high prices charged at this campground, why would you not make every effort to ensure you provide that amenity. Almost 2 years closed now, I have to wonder if this is more about laziness and just not caring than Covid. The campgrounds stores in the area are all open. Everything should be open! But yet, they still charge their normal rates which I think is appalling, they have less staff, and

Awesome place to camp. Well organized and clean as can be. They have staff cleaning all day. They definitely have a system to keep everything clean and making sure everyone is having fun. Getting a bit pricey for camping but we'll worth it. FYI the camp store is not open at all this year so all the small stuff you need your going to have to take a short ride to get.

My favorite campground in OOB. They have lots of activities, clean facilities, amazing additional pool in the back, an awesome store/takeout food, the trolley stops right there, etc! Stay away from the sites up front, they are super small and short. The sites in the back seem to be easier to get into.

Overpriced for what sticklers they are about visitors and parking. Constant mention of limited parking when 1/3rd of the place is vacant. Charged us 25 dollars for someone to visit for 30 mins and 36 for grandparents to pop in for kids birthday. Internet was a fail. Hardly works even at the front desk. Then was promptly asked to vacate the property half hour after our checkout time while at the mostly vacant pool. Other than that a nice facility. Won't be back, would rather go somewhere our business and company is appreciated. This was our second year back and price has doubled.

Crap hole! Major major crap hole! $110 a night for a grassy site and $12 a night extra per kid. What??!!!! They called us while we were downtown and told us we needed to get back right away to pick up a package that had just been delivered as they dont accept customer packages and we would need to have any future packages sent to the post office. Fire pits are recycled washing machine tubs, the vent stack for the septic permeates through your campsites. You are embedded with what appears to be a 75% Fulltime living situation of residents. They've built full decks and sheds around their campers

My children love it here at Powderhorn. It is a beautiful and well kept campground. We try to stay here every year because of how gorgeous it is, that is the reason I give it 3 stars. The staff at the campground and at the store tends to be very friendly. This year, I simply asked a question over the phone and was treated very rudely. I was very polite and understanding when asking my question and receiving the answer but the person on the phone was still rude and still decided to hang up the phone rudely.

We had stayed for 3 night this past weekend. They had cleaned the bathrooms a lot and it was amazing. With everything going on I loved how much they cleaned it. my kids really enjoyed Christmas weekend. They enjoyed two things and it was the movies on the big screen and then the pools and how fun they were. It was near the beach and the trolly was great to have. The sites are a lot bigger then we all were expecting. We love this place and we will be back next year!! Thank you for all you did during COVID-19.

I'm quite surprised to see the lackluster reviews here. We'll be going here this summer for our fifth year in a row. I've NEVER been in a campground so clean in my life, and it feels quiet & friendly every time we go. Our first year we were a bit disgruntled by one of our neighbors with a big screen projector playing scary adventure movies that bothered our kids; it was tough to get them to look away because it was LOUD. (WHY do people assume strangers want to watch what they're watching or listen to what they like? Keep that to yourselves, would'ja?) But otherwise

Tried to book a 3 night stay in November, I was told that it wouldnt be a problem and to wait until the beginning of January to book anything less than a week. Attempted to book the 3 night stay in January and was told there was a 4 night minimum. I explained how I was told it wouldnt be a problem in November and of the two people it could have been that told me that, neither acknowledged the possibility the conversation happened and there was nothing they could do (even though they did acknowledge that they have in the past made exceptions to this newfound rule.) I would be weary of a campground

We normally LOVE coming here however we will NEVER go back after the way I was treated. Checking in , they had us listed as 2 children, but we only have 1, so they subtracted that which left us with a small credit since they charge per person. I then, asked for a late checkout... they applied the credit towards that and I paid the difference ($3 and change). We then did not need the late checkout so as I was checking out to let them
Know and was expecting it to be an easy process with a simple credit. Nope! Turns out they have no record of this transaction and the 'gentleman' who was

Great location and in walking distance to the pier, which is where you want to be. So much fun for the family with weekly events and kids camp daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day. There's a good mix of seasonal sand weekenders so whatever your camping interests are there's something for you. It's family owned and the management are good-hearted people that care. Two pools, a great camp store with the best pizza in town. I speak highly of Powderhorn and I would know since I lived here as a seasonal for 3 of the best summers of my life.

This is the most over-priced campsite I have ever been to. The staff are very strict. They let kids go whizzing by on bikes all over the place, but don't allow rollerblades... The toilet paper is extremely thin, they put a ridiculous limit on the amount of people you can have stay at one campsite, there are no clotheslines (not a huge necessity, but for the price they charge, why wouldn't they?), and they have an early "quiet by/lights out" rule. I wouldn't come here again. If you are the type of person who likes a ton of rules put on you, have lots of money you'd

Nice campground but customer service is TERRIBLE! Came here to visit family and the girl behind the window was extremely rude! She couldn't find my family's reservation after I specifically spelled it for her several times then proceeded to say that I was lying and that I must be spelling it wrong! Just for this reason alone I would not stay here or recommended staying here at all! Save yourself a headache and go somewhere else! They need customer service training!
It gets even better, the people who own/live here on the campground are just as rude! You live in a trailer park there&apos

Currently camping here and this is not the place to camp if you plan to have any group who stay awake past 10. They will tell you every single night that you are not allowed to have any wood in fires past 10:30 even if you are making no noise. Sites are small and high prices are due to so many extra staff members who are fire watchers.

This campground was very clean. My site was just ok. I would probably not go back. When we checked in I questioned what I was being charged for because the price was much more than it was when I made the reservation. The girl checking me in said I must have misunderstood. When I checked my confirmation it wasn't detailed. I did ask her to print out what she was charging me for and she charged me for an extra body. She didn't apologize she brushed me aside because the people behind me where getting restless. There was a line out past the road waiting to check in. This place was packed

Powderhorn does a number of things better than any other campground and a some things worse than any other campground. Well only one thing worst. The campsites are very very small cramped next to one another and there really is no sense of woods or privacy. If you like camping for the outdoorsy or privacy aspect then you'll be disappointed. Because of everything else they do so well I still gave them 4 stars.
